You have complete privacy with your own entrance. The lively downtown area is just a 12-minute stroll on foot where you'll find many great restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee shops + antique stores. Besides exploring historic Petaluma, you can use this as your home base for wine and brewery tours as well as coastal day trips. Our home was built in 1900 but has been extensively remodeled to provide modern day creature comforts. This charming and newly updated unit is the first floor/walkout basement of our primary residence. It's quite spacious at about 800 square feet! It has a full kitchen with newer cabinets, appliances, etc. Now featuring a countertop dishwasher. It's well stocked with essentials for cooking and baking or just making coffee or storing newly purchased wine in the fridge. Please note: due to the age of the home and the fact that there are 2 additional living areas above the flat, you may occasionally hear the sound of water running, footsteps, and appliances like the washer and dryer as it's virtually unavoidable in a historical home like ours. There's are also 2 pumps in a locked closet that do run occasionally at random times. We also have outdoor security cameras at the garage, right side of house, front door of main house, and the backyard near the main gate. Finally, there are 3 steps down into the kitchen when you enter the front door and a 4-inch step up to the bedroom/bathroom area. You will have access to your whole unit with it's own entrance and the covered patio. If you also want to use the other part of our backyard, please inquire first as we do use it regularly. For example, you might see us roam through the backyard getting a bike or golf clubs from the shed, or using the BBQ, etc. Since this is the first floor of our main home, we are generally on premises most of the time. However, you will be in a unit with its own entrance. Although it's attached to our home, it's separate from our living space and very private. The only access to the unit is the front door you will enter through and the sliding glass door from the covered patio both in our backyard. You may occasionally see one of us grabbing a bike or golf clubs in the backyard shed. If anything is needed, feel free to get in touch and we will help with whatever we can. We border the quiet Oakhill-Brewster historic district of tree-lined streets, Victorians, Craftsmans and Bungalows. Yet are within walking distance of the action of downtown and many restaurants offering a diverse range of culinary choices. It's central to coastal areas and wine country. Here are some approximate drive times for exploring some popular nearby destinations: -Dillon Beach and the town of Sonoma: 30 min. -Bodega Bay and Healdsburg: 35 min. -Napa: 42 min. There is plenty of parking along both sides of the street where our home is located. Just don't park in either of our driveways as we use both of them and the long driveway is narrow and you could risk hitting something. Also be sure to avoid parking in front of any driveways or garages in the neighborhood. Many restaurants and the historic downtown are within walking distance. You can also use Uber or Lyft or call a cab if needed. You will find 2 locked doors inside the unit. Those are simply storage closets and one has the water heater for the whole house. They are always kept locked. There are 3 steps down when you enter the front door and a 4-inch step up to the bedroom/bathroom area.
