Comfort and relaxation are the cornerstone of Peaceful Pines, an eight acre landscape with a traditional log cabin and quaint guest cabin located on a pond. The log cabin has an open concept, a loft and updated amenities including a wraparound deck, screened-in porch, round hot tub and more. A one-of-a-kind guest house compliments the traditional log cabin for your crew or additional guests. Main Cabin: As you walk in to the main cabin, you’ll notice beautiful stone-look tile with a nice surprise—they’re heated! Throughout the walking areas of the main cabin we’ve installed heated flooring. You can adjust the thermostat as you wish, located in the downstairs bedroom. The main cabin living area is equipped with leather seating as well as an electric stove with a stunningly realistic wood stove appearance. For your entertainment, there’s a 43-inch Roku TV by TCL which has paid subscriptions to Disney+, Hulu, Netflix and ESPN+. Feel free to sign-in to other applications or your own subscription to any service. There’s also a few fan-favorite board games located under the stairs. The kitchen has all new brand new appliances including dishwasher, electric oven + stovetop, microwave, retro refrigerator/freezer, Keurig with k-cups supplied and a countertop ice maker. The island is completely new as well with a quartz countertop—be sure to enjoy the comfy counter height stools! The master bedroom is on the first floor and includes a closet, bedside tables with lavender spray (great for sleeping!) and sound machines. The downstairs bathroom has been completely renovated, complete with a rock sink vanity, brand new tile shower with rock floor, supplied with luxury towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Through the bathroom leads to the laundry room with a washer and dryer—we’ll leave a few detergent pods for you and feel free to use anytime. The second bedroom/loft boasts a canopy bed (with bedside tables + sound machine), comfortable desk, hanging hammock chair with foot stool (fully stocked with books) and a large closet area. The main cabin has a beautiful screened-in porch with four rocking chairs on one side and a lounge area with a patio sofa, two chairs and coffee table on the other side. The porch was recently completely redone and is one of our favorite places to enjoy. On to the finale…the deck! Easily our favorite spot at the cabin, the deck was just built and includes a hot tub with outdoor string lights overhead, an outdoor dining table with umbrella plus a bar top with stools. Guest Cabin: The guest cabin sits at the base of the hill, across the driveway from the main cabin (on your left as you pull into the driveway). It has a completely different feel than the main cabin—think if a loft met a modern farmhouse. It has completely refinished concrete floors, picture windows, and cozy accents. The living area is equipped with leather seating, large picture windows as well as an electric stove with a stunningly realistic wood stove appearance (same as the main cabin). For your entertainment, there’s a 32-inch Roku TV by TCL which has paid subscriptions to Disney+, Hulu, Netflix and ESPN+. The full kitchenette includes a mini retro refrigerator/freezer, microwave, electric stovetop, farmhouse sink, Keurig with k-cups supplied and a dining table for four. As you turn the corner from the living area you’ll find the bedroom, open and airy with more picture windows, a hanging chair, mini corner closet with hangers and corner drawers. Each side of the bed has a bedside table and also includes a sound machine. The bathroom includes a live edge wood countertop with vessel sink, a picture window overlooking the woods, and a brand new tile shower with vintage hardware. Luxury towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap are provided. Last but not least is a quaint porch just off the kitchen area. It has two chairs with a wooden side table, a fan to keep you cool and overhead lights. Outdoors: The pond is fully stocked and ready for you to fish (don’t forget to bring your fishing poles!). Enjoy roasting marshmallows over the stone firepit which has bench seating for six overlooking the pond. We aren't onsite, but we are just a phone call, email or text away. My cohost lives only 5 minutes from the cabin, so if you need anything during your stay, please do not hesitate to reach out anytime. Our property is located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Terre Haute. It sits just off of a main road and has nearby neighbors, yet offers a feeling of seclusion and privacy, especially during the summer months when the trees are full. October-April bookings: The cabin property has a feeling of seclusion and privacy while still having neighbors and being close to town. In the summer, when the trees are full, the property offers complete seclusion. During the late fall through early spring months, when the trees lose their leaves, the road to the north of the cabin and the neighbors houses can be seen through branches. Stairs: When you arrive, the main cabin will be on your right and the guest cabin on the left. The guest cabin is at ground level but the main cabin has stairs leading up to it. Please keep this in mind for accessing the main cabin. Bugs and Wildlife: With our cabins being in the woods and on a pond, we want you to be aware of bugs and wildlife. All of the bugs we’ve encountered are harmless (with the exception of bees, wasps, etc.) and the deer, chipmunks, beavers, etc., are great fun to watch. Please be aware that the cabins are in an area where stink bugs are very active. These little critters are harmless and although we spray for them (pest control comes out regularly), they do find their way inside the cabin. If you find them, don’t be alarmed, grab a napkin, tissue paper or similar and put them either back outside or flush them down the toilet. Do not step on or squash them—they’re called stink bugs for a reason. Security: There is a security camera near the upper window of the main cabin facing the driveway. We use this camera to ensure the property is secure.
