Pastoral and serene! Located along the beautiful Grays River this is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. You will love reconnecting with nature and each other on our private 5 acres. Enjoy quiet evenings by a bonfire, BBQing, lawn games, and wide-open spaces. Near Hwy 4, our location is a convenient central base for exploring the surrounding areas. Easily accessible boat launches are nearby so be sure to bring your kayak or boat for scenic water trail exploration. Insta: @graysriver_retreat The space This historic 1920s farmhouse is nestled along private river frontage. The main house features a 2nd story loft-style bedroom complete with a full bathroom, a queen bed, two twins, a work desk, and extra space to add a blow-up mattress if desired (not provided). Downstairs in the main house, you'll find a full kitchen, dining room, full bathroom/laundry, wood fire stove, and living room with assorted games, DVDs, and hangout space. Enjoy wrap-around decking that connects to the guest house where you'll find two private guest rooms each complete with a full bath. The kitchen is small but well-stocked with adequate cooking utensils, coffee, and assorted spices. The charcoal BBQ area outside is stocked with briquettes for your convenience and we supply enough firewood for the firepit for roughly 2 small fires. Additional BBQ briquettes and/or firewood is available at the nearby grocery. Guest access Enjoy all aspects of our property in privacy, with the exception of our barn which is currently under repair and off limits. Our property is surrounded by working dairy fields. These fields will sometimes have cows in them but even when they appear unoccupied we asked that you do not enter the neighbors fields. Other things to note Winter Guest Advisory: Please be aware of winter storm events before booking. November-March the Grays River is prone to flooding during heavy rain events. Flooding can occur on the property, occasionally blocking access to and from the house. We do our best to predict these events, and block hazardous dates from bookings, but we ask that you too be aware of this potential and consider upcoming weather events before booking.
