Then settle in around the fire for the evening, listening to the water and stargazing. Centrally located in Ellsworth near Torch Lake, Charlevoix, Elk Rapids, and Traverse City, Sunset Cedar House is the also the perfect hub for the area's hiking, biking, and skiing. For 2024 the high season starts on June 15th and ends on September 7th. High season rentals are Saturday to Saturday. The cottage provides all of the must-haves: - Wifi and cable - Main floor washer and dryer - Modern kitchen with filtered chilled water and ice dispenser, dishwasher and Keurig coffee maker - Air conditioning (1 ton hotel-style unit on first floor) - Wood-burning fireplace (available in the off-season) We love our furry guests! We allow one mature, house-trained dog under 70 lbs. The non-refundable pet fee is $150 per stay. You can add your pet when setting the number of guests. After booking, we'll send you a pet agreement to sign and return. Thank you! Sunset Cedar Beach House is located on Grand Traverse Bay just 20 minutes south of Charlevoix and a few miles north of Torch Lake (Eastport). It provides a dramatic view from a bluff about 15' above the water with an easy switchback path down to the water's edge. The house views the Leelanau Peninsula across the bay with Lake Michigan to the north and Grand Traverse Bay to the south. A large partially covered deck overlooks the lake. You can enjoy the view and the sunset from the beach, the bluff or even the master bedroom balcony (or from the kayaks out on the bay). Enjoy a fire during the cool nights in the fireplace or in the fire pit overlooking the bluff. Just down the switchback pathway is your own private beach. The beach has sand and smooth rocks. The bay is shallow which makes it great for young children. The house has 1,300+ sq. ft. of living space. The kitchen has quality stainless steel appliances including refrigerator with filtered water dispenser, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave and disposal. Lots of modern conveniences like a Keurig, blender, crockpot, etc. and you can see the lake while you cook. A small grocery store with a great deli (and delicious summer BBQ) is only 5 minutes away. There are three private bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa. There are two bathrooms, one with tub and one with shower. The master bedroom upstairs has a king bed, dedicated work space, and large balcony that all overlook the lake. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a futon chair. It also has a TV and games and serves as the “game room." A bathroom with a bathtub is located between the upstairs bedrooms. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed and is smaller but nice and private for sleeping. The main floor bath has a shower and washer/dryer. High speed internet is provided along with Netflix, Disney+ and streaming movies. Spectrum cable TV is also available. Tivo systems are provided and there are blu-ray players as well. There are also board games, puzzles and video games (Xbox, Play Station and Switch) for rainy and/or slow days. For guests with small children, we provide a pack 'n' play, a portable high chair, plastic dishes/cutlery, a portable night light, and a few toddler toys like blocks, puzzles, etc. To keep you cool there are three ceiling fans and a 1-ton air conditioner in the living/dining room (NO CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING). There are kayaks, a stand up paddle board, a lily pad, and 4 bikes that can be used to enjoy the bay.
