Park Side Cottage

25 miles from MU Stadium, Park Side Cottage is an extensively renovated almost 100 year old home nestled on a double lot. Close to 1300 sq ft, PSC offers a fully functional kitchen with coffee bar & laundry room. Adult seating & kids play area on the sunporch with large breezy windows. No basic cable, but we have Hi-Speed internet, Fire stick & blue ray with over 150 DVD’s & cards & board games. Please read entire listing for guest/house rules, expectations & special accommodations requests. The space Park Side Cottage offers an entire house open to guest use with the exception of a small locked storage/supply room. There are 3 bedrooms with a king bed, a queen bed and twin bunk beds. Extra blankets and pillows are available. The living room area invites you to enjoy watching a movie on the large 55 inch TV or maybe play some games while sitting on either the sofa, reclining sofa or recliner chair. There is a cozy dining area with additional bar seating beside the large newly renovated and remodeled full kitchen. One full bathroom with some amenities available; soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo and conditioner, are provided. We have a small mud room and laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer, with small ironing board and iron available. There is also a clothesline outside the back door. Park Side Cottage sits on a spacious double lot with large mature trees including cherry, pear, walnut, pecan, apple and a flowering catalpa tree, with a small stream that runs along the property. There are lawn chairs available for use to sit around the fire pit or to just enjoy the fresh air of being outside. * We also have a pack & play with changing bassinet and high chair for your littles, available upon request. Guest access At Park Side Cottage, you will have private drive way with free parking and just a VERY SHORT walk away, PSC is located next to Centralia's biggest public park with paved walkways, 3 different playgrounds, picnic areas, tennis and basketball courts, two ponds, the city pool and splash pad!! In town there are both fast food and sit down restaurants, a few with delivery options. There is also a grocery store, multiple convenience stores/gas stations nearby (within walking distance). Do a little local shopping in the shops downtown around the charming city square.If you are wanting to stay in there are snacks on the bar and food in the lazy Susan to the left of the sink. We usually have selection for breakfast and supper. Visit the AB Chance museum next to the Rose Garden; which has several varieties of beautiful roses in season and Chance Garden with many different species of plants and flowers and enjoy its winding koi pond and relaxing waterfall. Or should you care to venture just outside of town, we recommend visiting Battlefield Lavender Farm. They have a beautiful barn with store space and a wonderful assortments of homemade jams, jellies, honeys, oils, soaps and other great gifts. Or the Amish Communities for delicious treats and handmade products. Other things to note There are four security cameras on site for the safety of both our guests and property. One at the main entrance and trail cameras facing the drive, back door and open lot side of the house. Pets ARE allowed & welcome providing we know in advance and the listed rules are followed: they are required to be in kennels if and when being left at the house alone. City ordinance requires pets leashed when outside and of course, please “pick up” after your fur baby. We have pet bowls and clean up supplies provided. A non refundable pet deposit is required and charged. Park Side Cottage follows Airbnb's cleaning guidelines. We provide guests with Bluefire Hotel Supply amenities, (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap bar etc). Towels and linens are laundered with unscented LYSOL sanitizing wash and original scented GAIN laundry products, (which is also stocked for guest use) . For kitchen and household cleaning, the following are provided; DAWN dish washing liquid & CASCADE or FINISH dishwasher tabs, LYSOL, CLOROX, SCRUBBING BUBBLES, WINDEX and PLEDGE household cleaning products and are used for between guest cleanings as well. GLADE/AIR WICK plug ins are used around the house on the lowest setting. All products are a neutral, light and refreshing citrus scent. We understand that people have different sensitivities, please let us know if you are sensitive to any of these products prior to your visit and we would be glad unplug them and put them away for the duration of your stay and will TRY our best to make accommodations for other sensitivities.
