Ozark Natural Science Center is located in the heart of the Ozarks, surrounded by 15,000 acres of wilderness. It's the perfect place to host a reunion, retreat, or wedding. This listing is for one of our 3 lodges, Tyson Lodge, which sleeps up to 20 people. We have a total of 3 lodges with 68 beds, a retreat house with 10 beds, and several apartments with 1 bed each. There is a private bathroom in each room. Please note: the base price is for 4 guests. After 4 guests, we charge an additional $10 per person, per night. The lodge has a living room and covered deck, but no kitchen. There is a small refrigerator in the living room, and a grill with a cooktop on the porch of the lodge. For larger events, we have another listing for our event hall where we cater meals, or you can rent one of our apartments or the Neaville house, all of which have a full kitchen. Note that there is no cell phone service on the ONSC campus. There is no wifi in the lodges, but it can be accessed near the Ewing Center. The lodge is all yours during your stay. Ask about other spaces if you want to use more of the campus. We will give you space but can come help if you need us. This listing only includes the Tyson Lodge. It does not include the event hall or pavilion, so this listing does not include access to a full kitchen. Please inquire if you would like to rent an additional apartment or the Neaville house, all of which include full kitchens. Guests might have to share common areas such as the fire pit area. However most of our guests only catch glimpses of other people who are arriving on site to the property or they may see others leaving the property. Who you meet and speak with is totally your choice. Our secluded location is a peaceful haven, accessible by a 3-mile, well-maintained dirt road. Vehicles with standard clearance should be fine, but higher clearance vehicles are recommended for optimal comfort. Parking is available in our large parking lot, which is a short walk from the lodge. We ask that you keep vehicles off of our foot traffic pathways. We have 8 miles of trails all around the property. Wifi is available on campus, but does not usually work in the lodges. There are areas around campus where you can sit to access wifi. Fires are permitted ONLY in the fire pit at the Lewis Pavilion. Upon request, we provide you with complementary wood for one fire. If you would like to purchase more wood, it is $5 per bundle. We have had a very dry year, so please pay extra attention to stray sparks and be sure that the fire does not leave the fire pit. Please do not attempt to move hot coals. The Ozark Natural Area campus includes an education building, event spaces, 3 lodges, 4 apartments, and a retreat house (Neaville House). During your stay, other guests might be renting other parts of the campus, and some ONSC staff live on campus. Please be respectful of all other guests, staff, and our property. The closest town with a Wal-Mart is 15 miles away from the campus. The closest gas station is 6 miles away from the campus. Make sure that you purchase all food, drinks, toiletries and other supplies needed prior to your arrival on campus. Also please bring sunscreen, bug repellant, and a flashlight for your safety at night to be able to view our walking paths and trails.
