The space This cabin (Scarlet Tanager - red trim) accommodates two with two twin beds. Scarlet Tanager Cabin is one of two cabins for rent on the property. Our other cabin is called Bluebird (one double bed). If you cannot find the listing, message us. The owners also live on site in a separate home. The lovely interior harkens from a bygone time with vintage furniture and original art (created by the property artist/owner). Sit on the porch and experience true peace and quiet or gaze at the stars at night. With no city lights, you won't believe how bright they are. Bathrooms, kitchen and laundry are IN A SEPARATE BUT NEARBY BUILDING AND SHARED WITH OUR OTHER RENTAL CABIN in the nearby 2000 square foot barn. We do not allow pets. No exceptions. This is a truly off-the-grid experience and opportunity to get Up North to experience nature and get away from it all. Guest access kitchen, laundry facilities, bathrooms, outdoor space Other things to note The cabins (and our home on the property) are situated on 80 acres of woods and fields with lots of wildlife and views. NOTE: In March of 2025, we had an epic ice storm. There was a good deal of damage to our woods, and the walking trails on the back 60 acres or so are currently inaccessible with downed limbs and trees. We ask that you please keep your exploring to the front 20 acres. There is a bonfire pit to use. Please let us know if you would like to use it so we can set it up for you. We have very little light pollution so stargazing is really spectacular. We have had guests bring telescopes! There are many lakes in the nearby area, and Lake Huron is just 15 miles away. There is lots of hiking in the area. Alpena is the nearest town and is 15 miles away with good dining and grocery stores. Just ask us for a recommendation!
