Description

The Nolichucky Nook is the perfect balance of nature, relaxation, and outdoor activities. You will have private access to all 11 acres of land that is truly one of a kind. Whether you’re working remotely or just need an escape to unplug for a few days. This spot is for you. PLEASE READ the property description for post-Hurricane Helene updates! The space The property consists of 11 acres and river frontage of 1,500 feet. Effects of Hurricane Helene: In September 2024, Hurricane Helene caused irreparable damage to Erwin/Unicoi County, where the Nolichucky Nook is located. Although we consider ourselves some of the "lucky ones" because our cabin was untouched by the water, our 11 acres of riverfront property were destroyed. The property was 15-20 ft underwater, taking away the driveway, gate, signage, and most trees/shrubs/etc. Post-Hurricane Helene: Since the flood, we have been able to replace the entrance gate and create a temporary driveway, making the property and cabin accessible! We have brought heavy machinery onto the property to clear the land of silt (5 feet worth) and huge pieces of debris (machinery from a local factory, water heaters, washers/dryers, metal roofing...the list goes on and on). We've also worked tirelessly to "re-level" the land to make it walkable and accessible to our future guests! What does the "new normal" look like for the property? The flood brought tons of river rocks onto the property (feel free to keep on as a souvenir haha!). It also changed the shoreline and the distance between the river and the cabin (was 75 yards, now 150 yards). If you consider yourself a "beachcomber", this will be your paradise! So many displaced objects found their way onto the property, and you are more than welcome to keep any cool finds you come across! With the "fun, random objects" also come a lot of old glass and ceramics, so please be mindful of where you and your pets step! The cabin is approximately 400 square feet with an attached screened-in porch (250 square feet). The bedroom has a queen-size bed with a ceiling fan and a heat/AC unit. The kitchen consists of a stove top and oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator/freezer. The living area has a sofa with pull-out bed, a smart TV with internet, a ceiling fan, and a heat/AC unit. Adjacent to the cabin is a concrete pad with outdoor furniture and a table for dining, as well as a gas grill and a fire pit. Guest access You will be able to utilize the entire property for your enjoyment. Other things to note Pet Policy: The Nook has a one-pet limit with a $75 fee! I kindly ask you to be honest with the number of pets you bring, as it does increase the amount of cleaning required. If there is an excessive amount of pet hair (i.e., covering couch, curtains, bedding, floors) or pet urine/drool/etc., I reserve the right to charge a $50 additional cleaning fee. If you choose to bring a pet without indicating so on your reservation, I will add a $200 penalty fee to your reservation. I want to thank you in advance for your honesty when booking, and if you have any questions, feel free to message me!
