This former Catholic retreat house welcomes you for a relaxing, peaceful retreat from the bustle of life. The retreat house has kept some of the iconic art and stained glass, sprinkled throughout. The space This cozy retreat-style room has 2 twin beds, a desk, ceiling fan, TV with Roku channels (no cable or satellite), fridge, and A/C. Perfect for 2 singles traveling on a budget. This unit shares two bathrooms and separate shower units located at either end of the hall. A coffee shop is on-site. Variable seasonal hours. Please check ahead. Our retreat rooms are tiny. This room can accommodate a pack-and-play, but space is limited. Guest access Free parking in the rear of the building. A former Catholic retreat house, Garden Grove now privately owned and managed. Some of the historic elements of the former Marygrove Retreat Center can still be found on the premises, instilling a spiritual feeling for those who seek it. Our dedicated staff is comprised of local men and women devoted to preserving the building and operations of this historic retreat center. We offer all who come to the Garden Peninsula a place to retreat, refresh, and renew mind, body, and spirit. Please note that our front desk is NOT staffed 24/7 - rather, our friendly staff is quickly available to answer questions and assist with your needs via text or phone call to the cell numbers provided ahead of check-in. About the Neighborhood: Set on the beautiful Garden Peninsula in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Garden Grove Retreat is centrally located to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan's best attractions: Fayette State Park Historic Townsite, Kitch-iti-Kipi (Big Springs) at Palm Book State Park, Indian Lake State Park, Seoul Choix Lighthouse, Picured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls, and Mackinac Island. We're located just 50 minutes from Escanaba where a quaint downtown, a mall, and several big box stores are located, and just 25 minutes from Manistique with its arts and culture, small town shopping, boardwalk, and lighthouse. Close to sandy-beach swimming. Great kayaking on Garden Bay, Big Bay de Noc, Portage Bay, and Snail Shell Harbor at Fayette. Bring your bikes to ride our stretch of the Iron-Bell Trail along US-2 or take a leisurely ride along M-183 to Fayette and Fairport. ORV, cross-country ski, snowmobile, mountain bike, and hiking trails nearby. Kayak rentals at Indian Lake and Fayette State Parks. Great dining at the Port Bar, The Fish Shack, Tylene's, the Nahma Inn, and the Big Spring Inn as well as in Escanaba and Manistique.
