Description

The perfect Oasis in the middle of the Peninsula... Come home to this 2,500 SF c.1849 historic property and take a dip in the pool after a long day walking around, have a cocktail on the balcony, or just sit and watch the sun set from the roof top deck. Walk out the door and explore Cannonborough-Elliotborough and some of the best restaurants the City has to offer. Off-street parking for 1-2 vehicles is provided, a rarity downtown. We are a legal City licensed short-term rental 2024 OP. 05542. The space Welcome to our 2,500 SF circa 1849 Historic Charleston single located in the heart of Peninsular Charleston. We are licensed and legal to operate as a short term rental. The house includes 3BR and 2.5BA, two balconies, a ground floor patio with pool. The pool has a cover if safety is a concern. Please be aware that the hot tub heater may not be usable when the pool temp is in the mid 80s and the ambient temperature is over 90, as the spa and pool are connected and the pool could become too warm to be enjoyable. The living quarters include a dining table capable of seating 10, chef's kitchen, 1/2 bath, and a living room with a 55" wi-fi enabled 4K UHD Television with streaming ability and cable. Wi-Fi is provided with a good signal throughout the house. The sleeping quarters include a nicely proportioned master suite with a king bed and master bath with a Duravit Philippe Starck soaking tub and frameless glass shower. An oversized walk-in closet with washer and dryer completes the master suite. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen bed and share a generously sized bathroom. The house is furnished in a mixture of European antique pieces, modern design, and a large collection of original artwork. The house is fully furnished, including a well equipped kitchen... just bring your clothing and personal toiletries! The property is located 1 block off of King Street on St Philip Street and is highly convenient to walk out the door and experience everything Charleston has to offer, especially an unbelievable culinary scene. Our proximity to King Street can provide some occasional noise, but it is typically limited in duration and otherwise peaceful. Please take notice that a large adjacent development is scheduled to start in December 2024 and will last through 2026. This work will pretty much affect all businesses and residences in the area, including all legal short term rentals in peninsular Charleston (our neighborhood is the only one where owners are not required to reside on the property during guest stays). The City allows work M-SA, 7AM to 6PM. It is also possible that there will be concrete work allowed earlier in the day. It will unfortunately be disruptive for everyone. The bright side is there will be a new park adjacent to us upon completion and we won’t stare onto an empty unmaintained parking lot. Guest access Access to the property is provided with a lock box if we cannot meet our guests in person. Guests have access to the entire residence, including pool and roof deck. The City of Charleston has an 11PM noise ordinance. We ask that our guests refrain being loud on the porches after this time. We also ask guests to not use the pool/spa after this time as we have received complaints from neighbors. We also have a commercial business below and ask guests to be mindful of noise during weekday working hours (9AM-5PM, M-F). Other things to note A large adjacent development is scheduled to start in December 2024 and lasting through 2026. This work will pretty much affect all businesses and residences, including all legal short term rentals in peninsular Charleston (our neighborhood is the only one where owners are not required to reside on the property during guest stays. The City allows work M-SA, 7AM to 6PM. It is also possible that there will be concrete work allowed earlier in the day. It will be disruptive for everyone. The property is listed as not suitable for children under 12 due to the kitchen equipment, pool, high balconies, and roof deck. Airbnb has limited choices to restrict ages (0-2 and 2-12). Please contact the Owner directly for suitability for children. THIS PROPERTY IS A LEGAL AND LICENSED SHORT TERM RENTAL. Please take caution renting from unlicensed rentals as the City is preparing to pass new regulations that may impact travelers. The City of Charleston has an 11PM noise ordinance.
