The farmstead used to be the hub of a, now decommissioned farm. The inn was a stopover for travellers back in the day. It has been updated, but certainly hasn't lost its rural charm and peaceful country feel. Now it is home to our family of four (with little child-friendly pooch) and our guests from all over the world. The cozy self-contained guesthouse was added on the foundation of the old (attached) barn a while back and was recently updated with the modern amenities to host guests year round. Look out your window into a large lawn, garden, fields and sunset beyond. Enjoy the afternoons on the deck and evenings with the sound of water from the pebble stream, the ambience of a campfire, or enjoy the private deck. Watch the sunset from your private deck while sipping local wine (winery is just up the street!) This space is a wonderfully calm place to rest after a busy day at the beach, fishing, exploring wineries, horseback riding, etc. Guest access You'll have your own entrance to your self-contained, self-catered guest apartment, generous free parking (from 2 Norton Rd.) The grounds (3 acres) are shared with the host’s gardening activities and the farmer who plows, sows and harvests his crop in the field. The lawn is for campfires, play activities (or finding frogs and caterpillars). It's so quiet here... barely any neighbours , unless you count the horses, cows, chicken, turkey, fox, deer, many birds, a couple of cats and a country dog, but that’s what the country is all about. Other things to note Please contact us to arrange a playpen, booster, etc. We're on a septic tank. Only toilet paper can be flushed. Laundry use is free of charge. DO NOT use laundry POWDERS or BLEACH (bleach breaks the septic system) Bring your own laundry detergent: ‘high concentrated, liquid’ such as Tide (without bleach) We recycle paper, plastic, metal in the bins provided. The rest is garbage. Please use the organic bin for all food scraps, except meat. We’re eager to get it right. Please let us know if there is anything you would like to change, fix or customize.
