A charming retreat in a rustic setting, surrounded by the vibes of nature. Casa Verde is a great place to relax, reset and enjoy the gorgeous foothills. Sit back on your private deck among the many large heritage oak trees and watch the wildlife around it. Our Guesthouse was named after all the peaceful greenery around us (“verde“ means green in Spanish and Portuguese). The space Casa Verde is on a second level of a barn shaped building near the main house with its own private entrance. It’s a comfortable size studio with a full bath, fireplace, complete dine in kitchen, utensils, some basic ingredients for cooking/eating/drinking and a propane BBQ grill on the deck. There is a free-standing deep soaking tub (not a regular hot tub with jets) where you can relax in our handmade lavender bath salts with essential oils. We also provide individual handmade soap bars, quality all white linens and towels. We are in the countryside. This is a rural property and we love the tranquility here. We have goats, chickens, cats and edible gardens where guests can pick veggies and herbs from. We have lots of wildlife visitors: deer, geese, ducks and several bird species. When outside at night you can star gaze from your deck and listen to the frog and cricket chorus. We affectionately refer to our 2.5 acre property as “Box of Rain” Ranch and we are working towards a more self-sustainable homestead. The main house is over 100 years old and the ranch used to be an orchard back in the day. We are animal lovers! Your pet is welcome and will enjoy the spaces we have here! We charge $15/day per pet. We can only take up to 2 pets at each time (up to 65 lb combined). ** Please read the HOUSE RULES/PET RULES BEFORE BOOKING for detailed information ** Let us know in advance if you have a pet and/or if your party is bigger than 2 people. The studio has a comfy full size sofa bed and we can set that up for you. We charge $20/day for each extra guest (over 2 guests, over 2 years old). Due to COVID-19 we are taking EXTRA care and precautions when cleaning, sanitizing and ventilating. Guest access Guests and pets are welcome to walk around the backyard and through the gate to the seasonal pond area. We have hammocks and chairs set up under the trees. Pls keep pets on a leash around the goat area where chickens free range to avoid spooking them. Feel free to visit the goat barn and feed them the provided treats. The chicken coop is in the backyard, behind the Casa Verde. We can provide yummy fresh eggs when available. Other things to note This is a rural property, in town, but tucked away at the end of a gravel road. It’s a bit uneven at some areas and there are no street lights so please drive slow. We have a free standing deep soaking tub in the bedroom (not a hot tub with jets). It is quiet and very easy to operate. There are other living quarters on the property besides Casa Verde: The main house is located at the front of the property where my husband and I live. The cottage, just behind the main house is where my mother lives part time. Finally, our other Airbnb listing La Caravana is down in the seasonal pond area. The only shared spaces are the main house backyard, goat barn area and some areas in the seasonal pond, across from La Caravana.
