The space Without phone service, Wi-Fi, or tv, this listing is considered a form of elevated camping and is geared toward nature lovers who are looking for a complete disconnect experience. We are an "Adults-Only Nature Retreat," meaning we can not accommodate any children of the moon under the age of twelve. Though we adore all magical beasts, our haven can only host certified service animals. Upon booking, no cleaning fees shall befall our honored guests - your stay is free of such burdens! When designing Quartermoon Cabin for our guests, we were inspired by the beauty of the midnight sky. We attempted to capture the essence of starlight, harness the spirit of the moon, and manifest the magick of the cosmos. Throughout your stay, you can enjoy the Lunar Lounge, a quaint and inviting space filled with the cool energy of the evening paired with the warm comforts of The Shire. You will soon pass through a Sea of Tranqility, a peaceful paradise where you can set free your mind of its troubles and let yourself drift away into a serene slumber. You can also visit with The Crafty Moth, whom you may find to be quite a useful companion and loyal familiar during your time here. ~ Around the bend and up yon hill, the peace you seek find you will ~ Guarded by the moon and protected under its light, this hill-top hideaway is a retreat for the mystical mind, the free spirit, and the adventurous soul. Calling all children of the moon and space travelers from across the galaxy! Sorcerers and sorceresses, wizards and witches, enchanters and enchantresses, gods and goddesses, and all other magically-inclined creatures as well as non-magic beings are sure to find themselves at home with warm welcome, comfort, and sanctuary at The Quartermoon Cabin. There is plenty enough room to rest your wand, staff, and cloak, in addition to any other instruments of the mystic arts and magically imbued catalysts you carry. With a queen bedroom, bathroom, efficiency kitchen, and indoor and outdoor living areas, this charmed suite was designed to very comfortably accommodate an individual or a couple. The Bedroom: The Sea of Tranquility has a luxurious pillow-top queen bed to appease even the loftiest of lunar mothers. Set aside your earthly belongings and leave the troubles of the world at the door as you enter this secret sanctuary, graced in starlight and filled with moon magic. Here, you can bask in the light of the moon, day and night, with our cosmic ceiling and bewitched glowing Moon Window. Rest and recharge your spirit while restoring your mana as you lay under this enchanted night sky. This space is watched over by Astraeus, the noble night owl that lives in trees. Explore our vintage library corner filled with a collection of charged gem stones, oddities, curiosities, and eccentric reads. Sit for a spell in the Moon Goddess' Dressing room as you adorn yourself with ornate crowns of crystal and flower, eclectic hats, elven ears, delicate fairy wings, or magical cloaks. Capture a photo in this fantasy setting by which you can always remember your visit. The Living Room: Immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere of the Lunar Lounge as you laze in our gravity-defying hammock chair. Set the vibe with some mood music from our collection of vintage vinyl. Kick up your feet and rest your head. Learn something new whilst enjoying a good read from our library. Practice yoga, meditation, or magic. Gather and try your hand in a card game, a match of chess with crystal players, or perhaps a round of colossal checkers. The Kitchen: There is a feasting chamber where one can harness the powers of the elements: ice, fire, and water. There is a mini refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, hot-plate stove-top, and double farmhouse sink. Pumped from a 300-foot well, our water is crystal clear and safe and delicious to drink. This chamber is also stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware, as well as dish soap, cooking oil, and salt/pepper. We hope to have provided you with everything you will need during your stay to prepare and enjoy delicious meals. The Coffee Bar: Practice the art of Alchemy at The Crafty Moth, where you can transform, combine, and create the elixers of life. Delight and invigorate your senses as you craft your own powerful potions brimming with countless magical and medicinal properties. This apothecary-inspired beverage-brewing station is stocked with all of the beans, teas, roots, herbs, and spices you will need to conjure up exciting and unique concoctions to re-energize and re-vitalize your spirit. The Bathroom: Refresh and renew in this private washroom with a newly remodeled "meteor shower" and tub equipped with a glowing 16 inch rain-shower head where you can soak in the liquid starlight. Take some time for self-care. Cast a spell with the magic wand to illuminate the candles that float among the twinkling stars for the ideal setting to relax and rejuvenate. We provide you with toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and a hair dryer. The Forest: Savor a delicious snack, meal, or beverage while observing the local flora and fauna at our open-air, woodsy bar table, custom-made from live edge bark. There is also a small two-person dining table inside of a large screened porch. Here you will find an entrancing outdoor bedroom with a celestial floating bed. Draped in linen and lace and surrounded by an enchanted forest, this lush bed beckons you to sink in for a mid-day nap. We provide accessories to help you achieve your ultimate Zen, including incense, an ambiant waterfall fountain, "The Mountain Shire's Guide to meditation", and a yoga mat with 70 illustrated poses for you to try. Additionally, feel free to visit our shared outdoor recreation area located at the bottom of our driveway. This space has an extra large stone fire ring and a picnic table. This is the ideal spot for panoramic star viewing at night. The Mountain Shire is a place where nature is sacred and protected, and guests can anticipate visits from diverse local wildlife. There are hundreds of species of song birds that sing their beautiful songs in the trees overhead. You may hear the haunting call of an owl, the drumming of the pileated woodpecker, or the buzzing of a tiny hummingbird. You might spot a flock of wild turkeys displaying their feathers or even the majestic bald eagle glinding across the sky. Up on the hill above, there is a narrow path in the trees where wildlife often passes through, including white-tailed deer, red fox, coyotes, and on rare occasion, even a black bear could be seen. Other small friends you could hope to see are raccoons, possums, groundhogs, armadillo, skunks, bunny rabbits, and eastern grey squirrels. Even miniature creatures can be befriended including brightly-coloured frogs, skinks, snails, and butterflies. When rented together, larger groups can travel together and be comfortably accommodated. Our two newly-renovated, historic cabins are located right down the driveway from each other, about 80 yards apart. Together, they can sleep up to four people. Guest access You will have full, private access to the cabin during your stay. Other things to note This listing does not have a TV, WIFI, or reliable cellphone service. This location is best for those who are looking to disconnect and to be immersed in nature. It is a perfect place to enjoy some peace and quiet while still being a short drive from town. Due to the delicate nature of our ornate displays, our listing is not suitable for kids or animals. We can not accommodate children under 12 years old, pets, or emotional support animals. We gladly welcome certified service animals. We kindly request that our guests handle our collections and displays with gentle care and leave everything organized and decorated in the manner that it was found. We manage and maintain our art cabins ourselves, so we do not charge our guests any additional fees when booking. We do not ask our guests to do any cleaning upon checkout beyond washing dishes that were used. We happily handle everything else. Please, absolutely no smoking inside of the cabin. There is a $250 fine for tobacco use inside of the cabin. Being that this listing is placed right on the edge of the mountain, there are many areas on the property that could be considered unsafe. Everyone needs to be cautious when walking along the edge of the mountain as there is no safety railing. It is our top priority to ensure that all of our guests feel safe, comfortable, and at home in this space. Management lives on property.
