Perfectly located between Alderbrook Resort & Spa and Downtown Union! As much as we love pets, this one of a kind studio has a strict no pet policy. We only accept up to 2 registered guests. Thank you and we wish you the most pleasurable stay on Hood Canal! Enjoy complimentary coffee, beach towels, small propane BBQ and a restful time after a full day at the beach. We just added a mid size refrigerator in the beach closet which is attached to the cabin near the driveway. This will help with extra beverages, food storage and ice (only a mini fridge inside the accommodation). Please be advised that owner occasionally needs access to the boat on the dock. Boat is not for guest use. Respectfully, Kerry your property manager will communicate as early as possible via the Airbnb message platform regarding when the owner needs to access the dock during your stay. Favorite things to do while staying here: -Relax, unwind, be captivated by nature. Our rustic fireplace is one of the top highly rated reasons why guests love Dockside! Aside from the view, epic dock and beach access of course :). -Hang out on the dock ALL. DAY. LONG. Swim, kayak, sunbath, sit and read! Then grill dinner on our propane grill and enjoy eating at the picnic table while taking in the sunset. Grab some wine from Cameo Boutique & Wine Shop (tell them Kerry sent you!). -Reserve 2 single kayaks for $25 each (entire stay!) to paddle from the protected waters of Calm Cove to the Union City Market and have brunch or dinner at its popular "Canal Cook Out". Just ask Kerry to reserve and deliver your kayaks via the Airbnb message platform. Due to weather, kayaks are no longer stored at the end of the dock as seen in many of the photos. -Enjoy Union! You are minutes from Alderbrook Resort & Spa (SUPs, chartered cruises and beautiful hiking trails), Robin Hood Restaurant & Pub (with its live music venue), Alderbrook Golf Club, Union Square Deli, Dos Margaritas, Union City Market, Dalby Water Wheel and much more. Visit Union Washington and rediscover the outdoors, take in the sunsets over the mountains in the neighboring Olympic National Park, where Mt. Washington, Mt. Constance, and the Brothers rise across Hood Canal forming a breathtaking vista from almost any point in Union. It's no wonder that Union holds the title of the first artist colony in Washington. Enjoy live music throughout the neighborhood nearly every day of the week. Current attractions include working farms and roadside markets, the world-class Alderbrook golf course and clubhouse open to the public, Hood Canal Marina and public boat launch, the four-star spa and lodge Alderbrook Resort, award winning shopping at the Cameo Boutique & Wine Shop, organic gardens and public labyrinth at Harmony Hill Retreat Center, and of course, the deep saltwater fjord of Hood Canal. Today, visitors come for summers of sunshine and shellfish, and the annual return of the salmon. As well as the introspection of winter, to watch the herons out on the docks, motionless at high tide. There is always a wide variety of arts activities, as well as boating, fishing, hunting, shellfishing, hiking, kayaking and birding in Union. State Route 106 is the main road in Union, but some side roads are worth mentioning like Dalby road which takes you to our local bank, gas station and coffee shop. McReavy road takes you to the city of Shelton where you can find Walmart and larger grocery stores. Our famous Highway 101 heading north takes you to neighboring towns like Hoodsport, Lilliwaup and Hama Hama. Please use extra caution when exiting from Dockside, State Route 106 can be very busy during peak summer and fall months. -DUE TO OUR SEPTIC NO EXTRA GUESTS ARE ALLOWED -We do our best to clean the dock every check out but we are experiencing a lot of seagulls hanging out leaving the dock messy at times -Keep kayaks (pre ordered through Kerry) at the beach front near the cabin, due to weather the kayaks have been easily blowing off and floating away - also getting dirty from the darn seagulls I provide an arm load of wood for your entire stay. You can buy more at the local Chevron gas station off of Dalby Road (only one mile away).
