Relax with expansive views of Lake Superior as you bask in the glow of the wood burning fireplace's radiance. Waves echoing off the brownstone cliff upon which this special home is perched, absorb the splendor of bald eagles soaring only feet away. Minutes from your nest is Meyer's Beach, the common entry point to begin your kayak or hiking excursion to the sea and ice caves of this, the greatest of all lakes. Bike, hiking, motorsports and XC ski trails abound. Rest or play. It's all here. The space A wall of windows keeps glorious Lake Superior in view while you enjoy the solitude of this home in the woods while lounging. Snowmobile and ATV trails/routes are literally at the driveway's entry point. The area also has world class, well -maintained fat tire bike trails that are groomed for winter riding. Wanna mush your own sled team of dogs? That's available nearby as well. If indoor gaming is more your speed, just short of 20 minutes from Sky Fire towards Bayfield, "Legendary Water's & Casino" awaits your arrival. A peaceful, 1.3 mile walk from the home will have you stepping foot onto a glorious sandy swimming beach. With Lake Superior literally lapping at your feet, this beach stretches over 2 miles to the quaint town of Cornucopia where you'll find the marina, coffee shop, restaurant/bar and the, "It has everything" general store that is *Ehler's. A 23 mile drive into Bayfield, WI will take you to a charming community serving tourist and locals alike, all of whom have an affinity for the allure of the nearby Apostle Islands that await your visit. Just a short ferry ride away, quaint Madeline Island is yours to explore and enjoy. There are several wonderful hiking trails that lead to hidden oasis-type waterfalls in the area, to include nationally recognized, Siskiwit Falls! Siskiwit Falls carved out and polished a natural rock water slide that has been enjoyed for generation by those lucky enough to have discovered it. Your wonderful day having turned to night, the dark, amazingly starry sky over Lake Superior may grace the night owl with a show of the amazingly beautiful northern lights. Guest access The entire two bedroom *guesthouse that is Sky Fire is your private oasis away from home. Bathe in warm sunlight while relaxing in the south facing, enclosed front porch. Enjoy the yard and traipsing through the woods. The family room boasts both a queen and twin sofa sleeper. If a sofa sleeper bed doesn't sound like the bed you'd pick for your stay, you might want to rethink that. The person/people lucky enough to get dibs on the sofa sleepers will get to experience the warmth of the fireplace surrounding them as well as the most expansive view of Lake Superior you can imagine. :-) From a guest, Spring 2020: "Our stay at Eli’s place was a beautiful retreat. We enjoyed morning coffee taking in the view of Lake Superior, cooking in the fully appointed kitchen, and hiking and visiting the nearby beaches. Pictures really don’t do this cabin justice. We’ll definitely be returning." Other things to note Though water facing, there is no direct beach access from the property. Watch children and pets around the water/bluff edge, as there is no fencing. This home is in the north woods: seasonal bugs/pests can be expected. This home is dog friendly: While we make a considerable effort to clean up pet hair between guests, there may still be a few stray hairs in the home.
