The Park Place Front Room
Description
If you’re from out of town and you’re wanting to share an apartment with someone that knows the city and can help refine the number of places to sight see, look no further. This is a private bedroom in a two bedroom apartment with a full size mattress and common areas shared like the living room, kitchen, and bathroom. It’s a 5 min. walk from the train station and only a 15 minute train ride to downtown/city center. 5 min walk to great coffee house and local diner and bar. ~$900/mo. The space I’ve recently added a new dresser and nightstand to enhance guest comfort. Long-term guests are welcome, and I am open to discussing extended-stay arrangements. The apartment is in an excellent location with numerous restaurants and pubs within walking distance- many of which I frequent myself. It is directly across from the National Museum of Mexican Art, which is free to the public. Free street parking is available. This space is ideal for college students and young professionals, though guests of all backgrounds are welcome. Parking: Parking is free, but please read posted parking signs carefully. Street cleaning typically occurs beginning in April, usually on the fourth Monday of the month between 7:00–9:00 a.m., but don’t quite me. Do not park on the south side of the street. If you prefer to drive into The Loop (downtown) rather than take public transit, I recommend downloading the ParkWhiz app. I enjoy interacting with guests while fully respecting their privacy. You will receive your own set of keys and are free to come and go as you please. The neighborhood is an up-and-coming, arts-oriented area with a vibrant local scene. Within one block are cafés such as The Jumping Bean, Dunkin Donuts, and El Cafecito, as well as excellent Mexican restaurants including Los Camales and El Milagro. Several bars are also within walking distance, including The Barrel. A grocery store/liquor store is located next to the 18th Street train station, and a nearby Family Dollar offers low-fee cash withdrawals. Public Transportation: • Pink Line train station: less than a 5-minute walk • Bus #18 on 18th Street: 1 minute away • Bike rentals available next to the train station Train and bus passes can be purchased at any station. Current pricing is approximately $15 for a 3-day pass and $20 for a 7-day pass (valid for both bus and train). Bike rentals are available to rent, too. If you send an inquiry for specific dates, it confirms availability, then I would be happy to host you. For everyone’s safety, I do require guests to upload a valid photo ID and use their proper name through Airbnb. Thank you for your trust and consideration. Guest access Guests can have as much privacy as they would like. To insure safety I require guests to upload their drivers license or passport to AirBnB's website. You’ll have your key to the bedroom, too, so, no privacy will be given up. During your stay The Front room is in a two-bedroom apartment and the other room Ziggy and I stay in. Ziggy is my Portuguese Water Dog. He has hair not fur so he’s hypoallergenic. To insure that the place remains clean, each time I take him out when it rains or snows he wears boots to prevent any dirt that would have accumulated on his feet from getting onto the floor, rug, or couch. And, in the entrance way, when returning from outside we take the boots off. He’s a very sweet boy and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. During the day if I’m home you may find me reading at the dining room table, watching Youtube or Netflix, cleaning, or talking on the phone. I attend class some evenings. To insure safety I require guests to upload their drivers license or passport to AirBnB's website. Of course, you'll have your key to the bedroom, so you’ll have your own privacy.
