Description
The Log Cabin Retreat in Canton is perfect for your family getaway, small group retreat, First Monday weekend, or large family stay-cation! There are beds for 16+! Enjoy swimming, relaxing in the hot tub, playing yard games, or just soaking up the beauty of the wooded country from the large wrap-around porch. Cook your favorite meals for your group inside, or BBQ out by the pool in our large outdoor kitchen! The space The Log Cabin sits on 6.5 acres just west of Canton, Texas. The Cabin, yard, pool, and play area are on one acre, and the remaining 5.5 are a combination of active livestock pasture and lovely woods. As you enter the property, turn right and proceed into the circle drive. In front of you, you'll notice signs indicating guest parking. Just beyond that, you'll find a tree-shaded children's play area featuring a saucer swing, sandbox, climbing platforms, and a slide. When evening comes, automatic café lights will illuminate the play area, creating a warm, inviting country atmosphere. If you look to your right, you'll see the pasture, where you might spot some cattle. In the spring, you could even catch a glimpse of a newborn calf or two. Further into the pasture, there’s a fishing pond where you're welcome to cast a line. Shifting your focus back to the play area, you can catch a view of the Cabin, along with the backyard and pool area. The large Cabin, grounds, pool, livestock, wooded area, and pasture all require ongoing, active management and maintenance. There's a small secondary cabin connected to the north side of the main Log Cabin, which is where we live. To ensure guest privacy and comfort, each cabin has its own entrance and parking area. The Log Cabin parking is located to the south, while the Host Cabin parking is to the north, behind a wooden privacy gate. The cabins are also separated by a wooden privacy fence at the back. Whatever you envision for your vacation, you can make it happen at The Log Cabin. Whether you're looking for fun-filled summer days by the pool, crisp fall evenings making s'mores at the fire pit, or romantic candle-lit nights for two in the poolside spa, The Log Cabin has something for everyone. We've hosted family staycations, reunions, high school friend gatherings, lodging for golf tournaments, First Monday shopping groups, cousins' retreats, church retreats, anniversary weekends, birthday parties, and even intimate weddings. Located an hour east of Dallas, an hour west of Tyler, and four hours north of Houston, we're perfectly situated for groups coming together from all over. We're close enough to Canton for a quick trip to town for groceries, yet far enough down tree-lined county roads to offer a quiet and peaceful retreat for you and your guests. As you plan your get-together, the bedrooms may be used as individual family suites, or as adult suites with kiddos in other rooms. Either way works out well. Downstairs Rooms sleep 8 total: 1. Other things to note NOTE: The correct address is 554 VZ County Rd 2139. Airbnb autocorrected it and will not let me change it. **To all Airbnb valued travelers: in light of the pandemic, please consider investing in "cancel for any reason" travelers insurance. It is impossible for hosts to make refund assurances for every possible scenario. My Cancellation policy is classified as strict, and it is recommended that guests consider purchasing a travelers insurance benefit in order to protect your plans in the event of extenuating circumstances. If you have been diagnosed, medical record confirmation will allow you to file a claim for travel related losses with your travel insurance provider.** Rental agreement is required and a link will be sent to you upon reservation. As noted in our listing, there are security cameras on the corners of the house. These are not used to "spy" on guests, but instead because of the increasing incidence of "porch pirates." There is also one camera on the pool, which is there only for liability purposes, in the event of an accident. Hosts do not watch or surveil the property while guests are present. There are many deliveries to The Log Cabin, and the security cameras are just that - security, NOT surveillance. Kitchen is fully equipped. PET POLICY: The Log Cabin Pet Policy This pet policy is binding and enforceable upon confirmation of rental. Breaking the pet policy is grounds for immediate termination of reservation with no refund. 1) Guests must notify The Log Cabin of intent to bring a pet. If you clean up after your pet and our housekeepers don’t find evidence of pet hair on beds or furniture, your pet fee will be REFUNDED in full. We are not interested in making money off your pet, so if you help us out by making sure there’s not pet hair on furniture, and no poop in the yard, we’ll send your pet fee right back to you immediately after assessing the house after checkout. If there is hair on furniture and bedding, the pet fee will be withheld to pay for extra cleaning time. 8) Scoop poop. We don’t want anything left behind for the next guest. 9) Pets are not allowed on furniture, unless they are using a pet blanket. 10) Pets must be on a leash outside. They are not allowed to run free. There are cattle in the pasture, and it’s entirely possible for a dog to get excited and run after the cattle.
