Welcome to my little 8 acre oasis! Being the first farm I’ve ever lived on, I understand the peace and tranquility it can offer those who have never experienced it. Enjoy meeting my horses and mini donkeys, take a walk through my woods, or have a fire! Aside from being just far enough, but just close enough to all the happenings in the city, my newly remodeled private entry, ground level basement apartment offers an escape from the noise and a place to unwind and relax. NO CHORES REQUIRED! 😊 The space (Extra amenities listed at bottom) Located in my ground level basement apartment with a private entrance, this space was designed to allow my guests the authentic experience of staying on a farm, but in an updated and remodeled space with a modern farm-style feel to ensure that you feel like you're in your home away from home but with a sprinkle of the farm life. I am located on a corner lot off of a main access road, but it only gets busy during rush hour. The rest of the time it’s very quiet and peaceful. In the summer there can be some motorcycle traffic. This is an old farm that’s very rustic and has a hay barn that’s been worn down with love :) Currently there is no set pathway to your back door entrance but you are welcome to drive your car around the back onto the grass and park it by the entrance to your space (unless it’s winter😊) My lot is 10 acres! Most of that is the horse pastures but a good portion of it is the wooded area that you are welcome to explore! The back border of the property is all fenced so you can’t wander off the property. Although the cooking space isn't technically considered a “full kitchen” I have provided every appliances that will allow you cook everything you could in a full kitchen. This includes: Fridge, Electric double burner cooktop, griddle, crock pot, waffle maker, Keurig coffee machine, convection oven (cooks 12 inch pizza!), microwave, blender, all necessary kitchen utensils and amenities for cooking and a coffee station for your comfort and convenience. I also have a gas grill right outside your door (not in photos) as well as a fireplace! We have a dry rack and spray nozzle for quick and easy dish washing as well! Most of the basement doesn't feel like a basement at all! The windows in the family room and kitchen are ground level, allowing you to look out onto my land and feel a part of it. Depending on which pasture my horses and mini donkeys are in, you can see them grazing right outside of the kitchen window! The basement does not have central air but it does have a window unit in the family kitchen that cools the space nicely (spring/summer months). On very very hot days when it might not be enough, I have every room equipped with rotating fans for those who want them to help keep things cool. There are no air conditioners in the rooms but fans help blow the air back there and keeps the entire downstairs unit cool! It naturally stays about 10 degrees cooler than the upstairs because it is a basement. There is also a dehumidifier for those who want that option. The basement also has its own separate heating system from the upstairs that you control. There is a washer and dryer on your floor for your own private use as well and we provide one free laundry detergent pod per stay. There is a private desk/work space for those who need or require it in the finished laundry room. The space has been redecorated and truly has a relaxing zen-like feel to it despite it being a laundry room. It’s actually my favorite room in the basement! The desk/work space inspires good focusing skills to help keep you on track with whatever you are working on. There are two windows in the room that let in natural light (see pictures) and both can be opened. We wanted to provide the option of a private work space for the guests that required it while also keeping it out of the way of the guests who don’t. The family room has a giant projector screen with surround sound that makes for epic movie nights after a day of boating, hunting, fishing or trip to Mall Of America! The TV has Apple TV with Netflix, Disney plus, Hulu, HBO, and Amazon prime on it for you. You can also use airplay to cast from your own phone if you have your own apps you want to watch from. We also have board games, card games, puzzles, and books too! Outside we have a fire pit with 2 wooden rocking chairs and 4 adirondack chairs. There are extra camping chairs in the laundry room if needed. Feel free to burn ANY dead wood you can find around the property. Our wooded area is a great place to look! There is also a garden box right outside your door planted with several different things that you are welcome to take from and use during your stay as long as they last! There is plenty of parking space on our farm for big boats, rvs, trailers, ice huts, you name it, so feel free to bring all your toys! We have a large wooded area with the most beautiful giant trees that makes for a very peaceful place to take a walk in the morning with your coffee! But really a great place to take a walk anytime! But it’s kind of hidden so go exploring for it behind the garage area! The entire property is at your desposal to explore other than the area the animals are in. (more on that in different section) The property is also completely fenced in on the back side so you can’t wander anywhere that isn’t our property, so have fun exploring! Since we are out in the country, the summer months can have lots of mosquitos, so make sure to put some bug spray on! We provide some bug spray but might want to bring your own as well. Also several food delivery apps deliver to our place, so that is a nice thing to have when you want to stay in and cozy up!
