Enjoy your travel in a rare iconic mid century house. An updated mid century ranch built in the 60's with open layout, minimalist style that is filled with light. Whether you have morning coffee or enjoy a book in the atrium, lunch in the backyard under the shade of giant Redwood or dinner in open living/dining room, you'll have the entire place to yourself. We're 10 mins from Nike WHQ, 5 mins to Downtown Beaverton & the Mall, & 15 mins to Downtown Portland. The space Open the front door and you enter the Atrium, a bright, enclosed courtyard in the center of the house from which you have a vantage view of the kitchen, livingroom and backyard. The interior has an open floor plan with floor to ceiling window and unobstructed view of the private backyard - the philosophy of mid-century modern living, bring the outside in. The kitchen is large and open, with an oversized island & bar stools. Dining table sits up to 8 people, living room with an electric fireplace where you can have some cozy time after dinner. Four bedrooms with a TV and futon in the fourth BR is plenty of space for up to 9 adults & a baby. Updated appliances and amenities throughout the house such as washer/dryer, jacuzzi tub, 4K TV with Netflix, Nespresso machine & a french press etc. The private backyard has a very large live edge dining table, a propane firepit and a hammock perfect for an afternoon nap. The house has lock gates on the front and side of the outside. Guests can also enjoy seasonal fruits grown around the yard such as grapes, raspberries, figs and blueberries, depend on availability. Yum, do you have fresh raspberries daiquiri on your mind now? Guest access You have access to this whole private home. We do allow family reunions & private gatherings, but no parties. No loud music outside, & quiet hour is after 10pm outside. There is absolutely NO SMOKING indoors including the atrium area, violation will be charged a $500 cleaning fee. It is now legal to smoke Marijuana in Oregon and we do have a patio set in the front courtyard for you as a designated area to smoke. Please do not smoke pot in the backyard as respect to our neighbors & close all doors when you smoke. The retreat room in the back is for your use. Please clean up after yourselves. Minimum age for primary renter is 25. Guest is responsible for all damages and losses caused during his/her stay, including those caused by individuals whom were invited or given access to the property. Other things to note We strive to ensure that your stay is as peaceful, comfortable & enjoyable as possible. We hope that you will appreciate the uniqueness of the house & find the followings not as a nuisance. Since the house has a flat roof, you may hear the rhythm of the falling rain, "pitter pater, pitter pater". It's a soothing sound to some, for the others, we have radios in every room. We usually joke that Oregon was built on a giant anthill. We do try to manage the indoor ant population, but the truth is that it is darn impossible to keep them out. To avoid a run-in with these tiny pest, please keep food confine to the kitchen & dinning area. Wipe crumps off counter & floors. Tell us if you see more than a few here and there. We do provide some necessities for cooking (ie. sugar, salt, pepper & spices). Furthermore, some Guests brought other things and subsequently left them behind. If you see any that you can use, that's perfect. If there's any expired food, please toss them. This house was built in the early 60s, and although we had done some remodeling, there will be some loose screws & wear and tear around the house. Please let us know if you find anything needs repairing.
