Ridgeview: Cozy Cottage with a View
COVID-19 NOTICE: We are open for bookings! And Vermont is a good place to be right now, and always. So you know, we observe the cleaning and safety guidelines required by the State and Air B&B. More about that upon request. At "Ridgeview" you can go to sleep to the flicker of a wood stove, wake up to sunshine streaming through tall windows onto honey-colored pine flooring, and watch from your deck as sunlight fills the river valley and plays across the ridge opposite. Beautiful construction of 1000 square feet, two-and-a-half story salt box on ten acres three of which are open and level grounds. Tastefully furnished with fully equipped kitchen, two full baths, two wood stoves, washer/dryer and an additional refrigerator/freezer for additional food storage in the foyer. The ground floor features a private primary bedroom with queen bed, bay window, full bath, and private deck, plus cable TV and DVD player. Enjoy the open floor plan and vaulted ceiling on the main level, with a queen sleeper and a large view deck. The loft offers a full bed for additional sleeping accommodations. Great for couples, two couples, or small families. Located in beautiful Newfane, very quiet and serene, but just minutes to skiing and snowboarding, swimming, canoing, day lilies, golf, hiking, galleries, antiques, Marlboro Music Festival, Brattleboro shopping and restaurants. The lot is 10+ acres of partially cleared land. Perfect for short walks without leaving "home." Great views of the ridge across the river. Prices include local tax, linens, WIFI internet, firewood and utilities except long distance phone. Not at all. Owner not on site. It's so quiet, with no thru traffic. "A passing car is an event," one guest said. Neither is it lonely, desolate, "Stephen King" land. Private, quiet, easily accessible from major arteries. A mile from VT Route 30, 3 miles from the center of Newfane Village, 10 from Brattleboro and I 91. Hartford/Springfield nearest airport (BDL). Convenient (and less expensive most times) to Logan/Boston (BOS), too. Amtrak serves Brattleboro, just 10 miles away. Take the train in the Northeast Corridor, rent a car there, and spare yourself the drive! Off street parking on site. Firewood on the property provided for the two woodstoves. Oil heat if you don't feel ambitious.
