This is the ideal home/base camp for those who want to bike, hike, and explore the natural beauty of Brevard, Pisgah, and Hendersonville. Our updated, well-kept house is designed for comfort and relaxation. The open-plan living and dining area flows seamlessly into the remodeled kitchen, creating a warm, inviting space. Unwind in front of the wood-burning stove or on the big main deck. KITCHEN & DINING: * Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove and ample counter space * Quality cookware, including seasoned cast iron skillets and stainless steel pots * Coffee options: standard coffee machine, French press, and a coffee bean grinder * Inside Dining table with seating for six, outside table on deck, too OUTDOOR SPACE: * Large, covered deck with a dining table and a gas grill, perfect for enjoying meals outdoors. ENTERTAINMENT: * TV with DVD player with a library of about 45 movies * Starlink internet * Plenty of board games & books perfect for a getaway BEDROOMS (Sleeps 5): * Master Bedroom: Spacious room with a king-sized bed, a private en-suite bathroom, and its own covered deck. * Second Bedroom: Features two comfortable twin beds. * Third "1/2" Bedroom: A unique, small room with a single twin bed. This cozy, cedar-paneled space was converted to be a sleep room. It has easy access to the hall bathroom. A louvered pocket door connects it to the master, making it ideal for some families. Guest access You will have access to the entire house. This includes access to the garage/workshop to store or work on your bikes (no tools included, but there is a bike stand). There is a separate storage room in the garage that we keep as an "owner's closet". Guests will have private access to the entire house and the surrounding 6.5-acre property. This includes: * Full use of the house and its amenities. * A separate garage, ideal for storing or working on your bikes. We provide a bike stand, workbench, and a compressor for your convenience (please bring your own tools). * Ample parking is available under the large carport and in the large gravel driveway. A small storage room in the garage is kept as a locked "owner's closet" and is not accessible to guests. Other things to note This is our vacation home that we enjoy sharing with others. It is comfortable & clean and in an ideal quiet location. It has a great kitchen and terrific decks. You will be our guest, much as if you borrowed the keys to your friend's Mtn cabin. We hope you find this to be one of those special finds on AirBnB with flavor and character. * Connectivity: You are in a rural mountain location. Cell service can be spotty, though texting usually works well. We provide high-speed Starlink internet, which is generally reliable for streaming, browsing, and staying connected. Occasional weather-related interruptions are possible. * TV & Entertainment: We do not have cable or broadcast TV. You can stream your favorite shows on the TV or enjoy our collection of DVDs. * Water & Utilities: The house is on a well with good quality water; a filtered water pitcher is also provided in the fridge. The home is equipped with a backup generator that automatically activates during a power outage. It runs a brief diagnostic test every Wednesday morning. * Safety & Security: For your security, there is one security camera directed at the front of the house and one inside our private, locked tool room in the garage. There are no cameras or recording devices inside the house or on the decks. You may not interfere with or disconnect these devices. Dogs: We love our dog and understand that people like to have their dog with them. Due to basic additional wear and tear that happens, we charge an additional fee ($75) for a dog. You would still be responsible for any damage that may occur. Even the most well behaved dog may scratch at doors or do minor damage when left in an unfamiliar environment. *We insist that dogs left alone at the house must be crated unless you have discussed an alternative arrangement with us*. Please pick up your dog's waste so we don’t have to. Dogs should not be allowed to roam freely in the area. There are coyotes in the area that could be a threat to a loose lost dog. You may not bring a dog to the property with a history of aggressive behavior. And... sorry, but no cats (OMG we had a bad experience with a guest who brought cats to the house without permission). If you bring a cat to the house, you will be evicted immediately without a refund, you will be charged $250, and you will still be responsible for any damage or clean up fees (ask us about our experience with this!). We appreciate that almost all our guests have left the house in great shape, just as they would if this was a friend's cabin. Any larger mess left or damage that needs repair will lead to additional fees charged to you and a lower rating on AirBnB. Please treat the house as you would your own or a friend's. We hate that this list above has grown due to the actions of past guests. Really... this is a wonderful place and we love to share it with conscientious people. Come relax and enjoy.
