I also have a Rainfresh water softener. Water is completely safe for showering, cooking, and drinking. The cottage is in a rural (country) environment. Therefore, the filtration system is different than that of an urban (city) facility The scent of sulfur is rare. I have invested in a titanium anode for the hot water tank to address this common issue.
