California is limiting travel due to COVID-19 with exceptions for essential workers. Please see Gov. Newsom’s request to decide if you can travel. We’re leaving it up you to make that decision. See Airbnb for our cancellation policy before you book. Snowy Pine Cottage is a small dog-friendly house in a quiet neighborhood. The compact space has all you need to enjoy Lake Tahoe and is only minutes from Emerald Bay, Heavenly Resort, shops, food, & activities like hiking, skiing & swimming. This completely remodeled traditional Tahoe cottage with rustic touches, including a barnwood ceiling and antique winter equipment adorning the walls, and early 1960's-style architecture, is your gateway to the wonderful South Lake Tahoe area. A beautiful stone gas fireplace will keep you warm and comfortable during wintry days or breezy nights. Enjoy the brand new bathroom with heated tile floors as well as a shower and tub. Be entertained by board games, WiFi, a TV or a Bluetooth speaker to listen to music with from your smartphone. Feel free to eat out from a variety of nearby restaurants or stock up from any one of the numerous grocery stores and cook in with our modern, open concept kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. A gas heating system ensures that you and your family will never be cold. Have outdoor equipment that you need to store? No problem. The one-car garage will surely be able to hold it, and your car should fit nicely on the driveway (street parking is NOT allowed). The brand new front deck will invite you to sit and enjoy the yard, which sits far back from the street and is filled with mature trees and the occasional bear passing through the neighborhood. Outside the property, our neighborhood is completely pet friendly and is great for walking or jogging down its tree-lined streets or numerous trails. Our family loves to enjoy our favorite outdoor locations and delicious food options, which include choices such as Mexican, Greek, Thai, burgers, or pizza restaurants...all just minutes away. The Snowy Pine Cottage is in the perfect location for anyone who is attracted to Lake Tahoe's backcountry adventures and those who wish to experience the basin's beauty from an easy-to-access location. We are less than 5 miles away from the Mt. Tallac Trailhead, a prominent peak with a summit that soars to nearly 10,000 feet above sea level, and offers a journey that provides panoramic views, including those of Fallen Leaf Lake, surrounding mountains, and Lake Tahoe itself over the course of an 8-mile hike that climbs over 3,500 feet. Just a little farther up the road is the iconic Emerald Bay, one of the most picturesque scenes in the area. Both kayaks and stand up paddle boards are available for rent at Emerald Bay. Closer to home, just 2.5 miles, brings you to Pope Beach, a popular spot that gives visitors views of the entire Lake Tahoe, picnic areas, affordable bike, kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals, and the lake's calm and cool waters perfect for a swim on a warm day. For families with pets, Kiva Beach, just past Pope Beach, allows dogs on leashes similar breathtaking views of the lake and mountains and is a great local spot. Camp Richardson, where Pope Beach is located, is home to a small store, seasonal equipment rentals (including bikes), an affordable and delicious breakfast and lunch spot, and a popular ice cream shop...all a short ride away. For more urban fun, downtown South Lake Tahoe and its neighboring city of Stateline, NV offers fun shops, several grocery stores, a variety of great eateries, along with many entertainment options, including movies, comedy shows, concerts, and more in the casinos on the Nevada side of town. Enjoy! For guest convenience, our local contact is available during your visit to ensure you have the best experience possible.
