Welcome to Sea Cloud Cottage - A Charming Retreat in Wiscasset, Maine Sea Cloud Cottage is a beautiful one-bedroom home, once the guest house to the larger Acorn Cottage next door. Perfectly designed for a couple or small family (with an extra child or adult on the pull-out sofa), this 900-square-foot gem offers an inviting, comfortable space for your getaway. You can also rent it alongside Acorn Cottage for larger parties, accommodating up to 9 guests. The space Cozy and Comfortable Living The upstairs bedroom features a queen-size memory foam mattress, soft yet supportive, with luxurious cotton sheets and a down comforter. A small chair, table, dresser, and closet provide everything you need for a restful stay. The full bathroom, with a shower/tub combo, is conveniently located just next door. Downstairs, (please not the stairs are the old farm house style that spiral up in a 90 degree angle see photos) you’ll find a fully-stocked kitchen ready for any meal, along with a spacious dining/living area featuring a cozy pullout couch, a large smart TV, and a dining table. For added convenience, a washer and dryer are available in the kitchen. Throughout the cottage, you’ll discover thoughtful touches: fresh flowers from Ammi’s Gardens, a small library, local wines, coffee, and more. The home is full of charm, with original moldings and old-growth pine floors, all lovingly restored. The property’s history is reflected in its craftsmanship, as it was built by a Freemason and showcases unique architectural elements inside and out. Breakfast & Local Delights Each morning, indulge in Ammi’s signature Wild Maine Blueberry Muffins, delivered to your wraparound Victorian porch. No need for breakfast plans—just enjoy these delightful treats to start your day. Location Nestled just a 7-10 minute walk from downtown Wiscasset, you’ll have easy access to Treats Bakery, Red’s Eats Lobster Shack, Water Street Restaurant, and In a Silent Way Wine Bar. The quaint village is a hub for local dining, shopping, and art, and just 7 minutes away, you’ll find The Alna Store, recently nominated for a James Beard Award. Sea Salt Boutique Cottages is nestled in the heart of the historic district, within walking distance of the iconic Red’s Eats, several five-star restaurants, and a variety of boutiques, art galleries, and antique shops. Wiscasset sits along the Sheepscott River, the deepest river north of Boston. In the late 1800s, it was revered as a prominent maritime capital. Much of the town remains untouched by modern life, and visitors can enjoy the "Museum in the Streets" walking tour to learn about the rich history this charming town offers. Today, Wiscasset exudes picturesque, quaint New England charm, offering a slower pace of life—a true summer haven. Outdoor Space & Nearby Attractions The cottage is set on a peaceful property with a small yard, a vegetable garden, yet it is set in the historic town district. There is an elementary school as its neighbor and Across the street, a small Art Gallery called Gallery 87 showcases the owner’s work and this year a special pop up of French Antiques compliment her paintings, the gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For a beautiful view, walk around the elementary school, just a stone’s throw away, you’ll find a scenic loop with a stunning view of the tidal river. Families with children will appreciate the playground on-site as well. Guest access Guests have access to all of ‘Sea Cloud Cottage’ it is the guest house to a double unit Victorian with it’s own drive way and private entrance on the private wraparound porch. Other things to note Early Check-ins: We are happy to accommodate early check-ins for a $50 fee before 2:00pm, as we’ll need to hire additional services to prepare the space. Boutique Bed & Breakfast Experience: Our property is not your typical Airbnb—think of it more like a boutique-style Bed & Breakfast. We take great pride in our hospitality and cleanliness! We live next door and go above and beyond to ensure you’re comfortable in all of our cottages. Comfortable Amenities: Each cottage is equipped with air conditioning, and the queen memory foam mattress offers the perfect balance of soft yet firm support, ideal for restful sleep. Location: We are located next to an elementary school, on a peaceful, dead-end street in the charming village of Wiscasset. Our guests appreciate the tranquility of the setting, but we want to be upfront in case you’re looking for something different. Important Note: Due to unforeseen circumstances like illness or accidents, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance, as Airbnb’s coverage for cancellations is limited. • Pet Policy: While we love pets, we cannot accommodate them. We appreciate your understanding. • Stairs: The cottage features spiral, carpeted stairs. These are the old farm house style with a 90 degree angle.
