This charming home is an ideal, tranquil retreat. While only a moment's walk from town, it is secluded, sitting directly on the lake. Kayaks are provided. Watch the sun rise and set from the house, the shore or while floating. The house is fully furnished w/ linens. Come to focus on doing the things you love: walking, shopping, fishing or watching languid sunsets lakeside. Please note: Month-long stays are not available June-Aug. We only accept minimum 5 day reservations during these months. The space This charming, fully furnished lake home is one of the oldest properties in Buffalo, MN. It sits directly on scenic Buffalo Lake. The living room, sunroom / dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and even the bathroom have windows with lake views. The clawfoot tub is an ideal place for soaking at the end of a day. Guest access Within a short walk, you will find thrift shops and antique stores, places to eat, a coffee shop, and a tap house. Boat rentals are also with walking distance. Walking trails connect the house to a park and along the lake. There is room to park. Depending on your interests, you may find that you don't need your car during your stay because so much is within walking distance. Other things to note Occasional Shops are open some weekends for shopping. Check our the city of Buffalo & Chamber of Commerce calendars for open shop weekend dates & for events at Sturges Park, within walking distance, connected by the Lake Walk. Walk to Buffalo Books & coffee for coffee, or get a caramel roll at ‘BJ's deli.’ Pick up fresh sandwiches for a picnic from ‘Gather’ or ‘Evelyn’s’ & then walk a few blocks to the Parkshore Pavillion to rent kayaks, paddleboats or a pontoon (call for reservations). Saturday mornings the Farmer's Market is open, then walk to Abundant Kitchen’s crepe pop up for delicious crepes. Finish your evening by walking to Hayes Public House for local beer or Muffy’s Basement for cocktails. If you want more choices, within a short drive you will find two golf courses, Detroit-style pizza, antique shops galore, mini golf & a variety of restaurants.
