Description
Beautiful waterfront cottage on Dickey Lake perfect for all seasons. A quiet cottage getaway only 2.5 hrs from Toronto! Easy drive from the GTA, Ottawa and Kingston on a fully paved road maintained by the municipality all year round. With two bedrooms, pull-out sofa in the living room and one bathroom, the cottage sleeps 6-7. Large wrap around deck including BBQ and outdoor fire pit. Pet friendly. We welcome guests that will be respectful and show care for our family cottage. The space Bright, open concept living, kitchen and dining area looking out over the lake. The cottage looks out over a shallow (weedy), quiet bay just off the west bay of the lake. You will love the peace and quiet and extreme privacy on this almost 2-acre level wooded property. Dickey Lake features great fishing and offers many different species of fish such as Lake Trout, Small mouth and Large mouth bass, perch etc. and a public boat launch close by. Beautiful waterfront cottage perfect for winter and summer getaways. Great ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter, and a great place for canoeing, kayaking and relaxing in the summer. If you like to swim there are public (sandy) beaches about 1/2 hour away from the cottage. Other activities include 4 wheeling (trails near by). Guest access Guests can use the entire cottage. Parking up to 3 vehicles available on site. Public Boat Launch: The public boat launch sits on the north end of the lake along Dickey Lake Road. Be sure to bring the required fishing/boating licenses if you plan to do either activity while on Dickey Lake. Other things to note Drinking water: The cottage runs off well water. Please bring your own drinking water, preferably the 4Lwater bottles. Single use water bottles are discouraged to be environmentally conscious. Watercrafts: Two kayaks, canoe and a paddle board are included. We have some life jackets but recommend that you bring your own. Swimming and any other water related activities on the lake are at the guests own risk. Firewood: Please bring your firewood if you would like to use the indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit. Bedding/Linen: Due to COVID-19 we are not supplying any dish towels, towels or bedding (sheets/blankets), so please bring your own dish towels, towels and bedding. For Nature Lovers: Explore McGeachie Conservation Area - 12 minute drive from the cottage Sandy beach: If you like a sandy beach you can visit Wollaston Lake Beach which is located less than 1/2 hour from our cottage with change rooms, washrooms and a playground. Cellular network/Internet: The cellular network is not the greatest at the cottage You may be able to get 1 to 1 ½ bars and call from some areas in the cottage (mud room or outside on the deck near the mud room). Considering the Wi-Fi is good for a remote location, you can connect through Zoom, Teams or any other internet based platform.
