Log Cabin and Ragged Rock Ridge
Mountaintop log cabin nestled in a mature, tranquil forest with spectacular views, ideally located near adventures like hiking in Shenandoah National Park (including Old Rag & White Oak Canyon), many local wineries/breweries/distilleries and quaint towns of Sperryville & Madison, VA. The authentic log cabin includes a cozy stone fireplace, porch, and patio with Old Rag views. Ponds, wildlife and hiking also available on the sprawling 300-acre property. Escape to the Cabin at Ragged Rock Ridge. The space The Cabin is our cozy retreat from every day. We hope you love it as much as we do. Unlike other rentals in Rappahannock and Madison counties, our genuine log cabin is perched upon a mountain ridge line, with spectacular views of the Virginia countryside and the peak of Old Rag Mountain. We love the picturesque ascent along a winding driveway up to the Cabin through the mature forest and across natural springs. The location is peaceful yet rugged. Secluded yet close to many local activities. An excellent place to disconnect (no wifi) and reconnect with friends, family and nature. The Cabin and property are loaded with amenities: wide open living space with a stone fireplace, Bluetooth speakers, TV/DVD player, loaded bookshelves, game table, DVDs, puzzles and cards/chess/board games, charcoal & gas grill, washer/dryer, outdoor patio, full covered porch, ponds, onsite trails for exploring and hiking. Enjoy the newly remodeled gourmet kitchen with an all-new range, large peninsula, microwave, drip coffeemaker, teapot, utensils, spices, dishwasher and more. Six-person dining table plus kitchen island seats 4, two full baths (one with an individual jetted tub) and three comfortable queen bedrooms. The surrounding Piedmont countryside is home to many local wineries, breweries, distilleries, antique shops, galleries and more. The Cabin is close to many Shenandoah National Park trailheads, including Old Rag Mountain, White Oak Canyon Falls and many more. The nearly 300-acre cabin property also has trails and pasture land to explore. Guest access The entire Cabin and surrounding 300-acre property, including trails, ponds, forest, and pastureland, are available to guests. Other things to note Pets: We allow well-behaved, potty-trained dogs to join you at the cabin. No cats. We do not allow pets on the furniture or beds. We charge a fee of $50 per dog. Please pick up after your animals. Trash: The cabin is in the wilderness, and trash left inside or outside will attract critters/animals. After you leave, we ask that you take all garbage and recycling with you please. Winter Weather: We are located off rural country roads and have a very steep driveway. Snow or ice could significantly limit access to the cabin if snow or ice is present.
