Description

We are a 29 acre, small farm about 14 miles from the main gate of Fort Hood. We have alpacas, and llamas. We are a military family and truly love Central Texas. We have space to roam. The rustic studio is approx. 300 sq ft with a microwave/coffee maker and full bath. You can drink coffee with the critters. There are chairs available. The space The room is your space! The barn and surrounding areas are used by everyone! We frequent these areas to care for animals. There may be guests on the other side of the barn that share these public spaces. Please be courteous of our family and other guests. Quite time is 10 pm - 7 am. This is a cozy, rustic studio barn space. We have basic furnishings that meet most needs. The room is decorated with old barn tin so watch for sharp edges. There is an attached 2nd story deck to relax and overlook our farm. This can be accessed by walking around to the north side of the barn. The room is integrated into the RIGHT ( white door) side of our red barn. We do use the barn daily to feed and water the alpacas. The other side of the barn is used for other guests. There is a charcoal grill available in the barn. Your room is a private space located away from our home. We are frequently around this space caring for animals. * We are not always available to halter and walk alpacas outside of show season. We both work and try to spend time with our kiddos in the evenings. However, if you are interested in haltering and walking an alpaca let me know. There is a small fee but this helps us continue to provide our animals with lots of grub, which they appreciate! ** We are also bee keepers! Please be aware that honeybees happily live on this property and will leave you alone if you leave them alone. If you have a known bee sting allergy then always have your Epi-Pen/ rescue medication with you! We keep Benadryl in the main house!! Just ask if needed. We can also point out the hive location so you can avoid this if wandering around! PLEASE, PLEASE do not chase our animals. DO NOT let your kids chase our animals!!! It takes a long time for camelids to trust humans. Chasing them will guarantee minimal interaction and this is very annoying to us since we have spent years gaining their trust! *** PLEASE NOTE*** WARNING UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), A FARM ANIMAL PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN FARM ANIMAL ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF FARM ANIMAL ACTIVITIES. UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), A LIVESTOCK SHOW SPONSOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN A LIVESTOCK SHOW RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF LIVESTOCK SHOW ACTIVITIES. Guest access Guest can park under the trees. Guest can roam freely as long as you close every gate you open!! We are on the edge of the hill country so we have lots of rocky terrain and uneven surfaces outside of the concrete area of the barn. We have an in ground pool for use as well in the summer. Other things to note We have a lovely creek area. You are welcome to sit in the chairs at the creek. We have been in drought for the last 2 years. The creek may or may not have water.
