This historic garden shares a border with the Spokane Centennial Trail, which gives access to hiking, biking, mt. bike trails, swimming (Spokane River), etc to the west. Downtown Spokane, Gonzaga University, Greenbluff, Mt. Spokane Ski Area and more located within 15-30 minute drive. Coeur D'Alene, Idaho is 30 minutes to the east. There are locally owned eateries, pubs, wine bars and breweries in Millwood within biking distance. Have your coffee in the gardens with the deer and birds. The space Parking on-site. Outdoor fire pit (Subject to local burn restrictions). Full access to 2+acres of formal gardens and 6 acres total with some wild areas. The studio apartment is attached to the main house via 4-car garage, but has it's own private entrance. Relax in the hammocks in the oldest part of the garden, just outside the studio's private entrance. Guest access Our private 2-acres of park-like formal gardens designed and built in the 1920s is always available to explore for our guests. Explore the old roses, terraces and fountain at the heart of the gardens. Wake up and have your morning coffee in the oldest part of the garden where the sidewalk is moss covered and the birds enjoy the morning sun. The old stone hut under the stairs is a mystery of the property. Find the "Valley of the Moon" and stop to smell the lavender. Other things to note This property has deep ties to the local Native American tribes and to the current and vibrant business community. Old time fiddle music is often played with friends of the family who own and live on the property. If there is music happening, don't worry, guests are always invited. Weddings, bridal showers, receptions and other types of events are held in the gardens at certain times of the year. The property can be rented for these purposes, as well.
