No wild parties, just a peaceful place to be amazed by wild birds, a fabulous stretch of the Mississippi, and nearby attractions. Here are just a few: Want to see where Charles Lindbergh, pilot of the Trans-Atlantic Flight in the Spirit of St. Louis grew up on a Dairy Farm? Just up the River near Little Falls. Go a bit further North and you can walk across the Mississippi River at ITASCA STATE PARK, one of the Oldest State Parks in Minnesota. How about walking, snow-shoeing, or cross country skiing at "Bend in the River Regional Park", the farm of Dr. Graves, a Veterinarian back in the day. Three miles up the River Rd. If you time it right, how about Catching the St. Cloud State Huskies (perennial highly ranked College Hockey team)? Ten miles south in the sleepy town of St. Cloud. And then there's O'Brien's Pub in the Booming Metropolis of Rice on the Mississippi, 4.7 miles up the River Road. Great Pizza. Good Beer. And the Owner's wife is nice. And we recommend the massive brewed selections available at the CAPITAL BREWERY in Sauk Rapids, the City of Broad Streets and Narrow Wastelines. And if some in your group would rather spend time shopping, the CROSSROADS Mall awaits you in Waite Park. We've never known any of the shops to turn your money away. While Moms shops, the Dads take the kids to AIR MAX, St. Clouds own trampoline Park. But whatever you do, be safe so you can come back to Escape on the Mississippi.
