In our current times you will find reassuring we go to great lengths to make sure the place is cleaned properly and that on very frequent occasions between guests we perform a Ozone treatment on the place for that extra step to be safe and clean. Ozone is amazing, with the SARS virus scientist discovered that Ozone treatments kill 99.8% the Virus's. Here are 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting, #1 NO PARTIES are permitted in our house or property at all times during your stay. #2 Our house is nice but its not perfect for all people, even though we have put lots of effort into this place there are always small what seem like trivial issues to most that really upset others such as, there is 1 bedroom is located upstairs, there is no dishwasher, located RIGHT OFF of South West Bay Shore Drive aka M-22, step's up to enter property, road noise when outside etc. #3 We ask all our guests to respect the neighbors and to not be loud or yell or play loud music inside and outside the building at all times during their stay. We expect our Guests to be quiet after 11:00PM. So if you intend to behave like a party animal, our place is not for you but if you intend to behave like a resident, you should love your stay. Now that this is clear, let's get to the description of the place! The Kaiser house is located in just outside of the City Center, right off of M-22. We can accommodate 8 GUESTS. The Kaiser House features a kitchen that is fully equipped with all the essentials such as MICROWAVE, POTS & PANS, COFFEE MAKER, TOASTER and your basic kitchen items to cook a nice meal. This is a 3 BEDROOM unit with a queen size bed's & 2 sets of bunk beds and all the linens you will need. We have WIFI / Smart TV. One bathroom has a Stand up Shower the other a tub/shower combo, hair dyrer, Iron & Board and washer & dryer so that you can take care of your laundry needs. The Kaiser house is named after Bill Kaiser who donated this house & property to the Traverse City Masonic Lodge #222 back in the 1970's. Who still own it today, the proceeds from the Kaiser House go to support the Building & grounds of the Masonic Center which in turn support numerous charities in & around the community. ***Please note this house is located in front of the Masonic Lodge and a great landmark to look for when arriving is the Masonic sign out by the highway. Guest access The entire house Other things to note Access to the trail system is easy. Take your bikes go to driveway exit turn left go 2 driveways down pull in, (don't even need to get on the road sidewalk there) ride right thru this parking lot & at the end turns to grass & you will see the access bridge & walkway which dead ends into the trail system. Left takes you towards Traverse City, right takes you towards Suttons Bay. Across the street and to the left a few hundred yards is Elmwood Townships beautiful beach. Bathrooms are nicely remodeled, the living room has a nice remote controlled fireplace, and the house is centrally located to the activities we wanted to do. The house was clean. It also has a nice view of the bay. The house is on a main road, it’s an older house, and there really isn’t a yard. You should keep those things in mind when booking. This is a well-kept older home with a large screened in porch and great view of the water across the street. This house is located right on M22 which is a busy road but really didn’t bother us. We liked the hustle bustle and convenience as well as being able to see the water. Karen July 2019 The Kaiser house is a rustic home centrally located for easy travel to ski slopes, the beaches, or for a walk to downtown Traverse City. It’s not an ideal location if you are expecting to be directly on the water or in nature. The home has everything that you will need inside of it; we especially loved the outside grill, the two washing machine and dryer‘s, and the air conditioning which was an extra plus given how hot it was. One of the queen size beds and two cots are located up a steep staircase so not ideal for anyone elderly, however it easily sleeps 8 to 10 people. The water shower water temperature was very warm which felt wonderful. The furniture was dirty, but Jeff took that feedback very well. Jeff was wonderful to communicate with and very helpful. All in all, we had a very good experience despite being initially disappointed by our proximity to the highway, and not the Lake house we were expecting. The house is clean, roomy, with a large dining area, great TV and WiFi. You can sit on a large screened in front porch and looks out over Grand Traverse Bay, and watch gorgeous sunrises or sunsets . The house is within walking distance to downtown if you don't mind a bit of a hike and there are several restaurants, an ice cream place and a park w/ a beach very close by. The house was clean and comfortable and the kitchen well outfitted. There is a great veranda across the front for a view of the lake. There are lots of beds - 6 twins in 2 separate areas and 2 doubles in separate bedrooms. Communication with Jeff was easy and he always responded quickly. As mentioned, there is traffic noise but with the A/C on and windows closed, the house is well insulated and we did not hear any noise. A few reviews mention a musty smell but we did not notice. The only problem we noted is the house is cooled by one window unit upstairs and one downstairs and the only way to keep the bedrooms cool at night it to keep the doors open. So if you want privacy, that would be problematic. There were more beds than we even expected....I think sleeping for at least 10: 2 Q and 2 singles upstairs and 1 Q and 2 sets of bunk beds (4 total twins) downstairs. There are 2 bathrooms (one brand new and another that is being remodeled shortly) downstairs, but no bathrooms upstairs. As mentioned in the listing, this house in on M22 (the main road) and can be noisy. I really only noticed it early in the morning when I was still in bed and the house was quiet. There is laundry in the basement (unfinished) of the house. The kitchen is great (looks newly remodeled) and the downstairs has an open floor plan with a closed off porch that runs the length of the front of the house. The furniture is nothing fancy, but there are plenty of seats (1 couch, 1 love seat and 2 comfy chairs) as well as a long wooden dining table that would surely seat about 10.
