The view of the river is very beautiful and relaxing from inside the house, the porch, and the deck. There is a dock and it's right next to the public boat ramp so you can certainly bring your boat. The space This house has two bedrooms. One has a queen size bed, a dresser and mirror. The other has a full size bed dresser and mirror. There is a TV with DISH receiver and DVD player in the living room. There is one bathroom. It has a claw foot tub and a shower stall. The house is right on the lower Oconee River. The Ocmulgee River joins together with the Oconee River and forms the mighty Altamaha River just a short distance from this house. There is a store named Buzzy's that is within three miles of the house and sells gas, and they serve a hot breakfast and lunch. Also, The famous Benton Lee's Steakhouse is within approximately 10 miles on the Altamaha. When the river is nice and low and the current is not too swift, you could make arrangements for a canoe/kayak trip down the river to the bridge. This would take approximately three to four hours and then a truck would be required to bring you and the canoes or kayaks back to the house. You could stop and have a picnic on the sandbar which is approximately half way to the bridge. I do not provide this service personally but can give you some contact info for some guys that have trucks and trailers, etc. to transport canoes and kayaks. They do rentals and will even act as guides if you like. When the river is low and warm and the sandbars are out, just hanging out on the sandbars, partially submerged in the water is delicious, refreshing and so relaxing - you feel like you're in paradise! There is a public boat ramp right next to the property, so at times, there will be motor boats being launched and taken out and at other times, it will be completely quiet with no boating activity at all. Whatever you decide to do, you are sure to have a relaxing and fun time at the river! Guest access If you come stay at the river house you will have access to the entire property. Other things to note When the river is in flood stage it is not safe to try to navigate it. Best to stay on dry land and roast hotdogs and marshmallows - or go inside and enjoy the beautiful view from the windows..
