Lobstermen's ocean-front cottage

Be our guests & experience the life & beauty of Midcoast Maine. Relax & enjoy the views, warm up in the sauna or go for a refreshing dip. The cottage is part of an over 100 year old working lobstering, and now oyster farming property we call, Gurnet Village. Located right on historic Route 24, we are conveniently situated between Brunswick & the islands of Harpswell. All rooms have ocean views. The tidal beach & the floating dock (May-Dec) is ideal for seasonal fishing, lounging & swimming. The space Take in the views and make yourself at home with: - 2 bedrooms, both with Queen beds, one located upstairs (Ghost memory foam mattress) and the other down (combo spring and memory foam mattress). - Kitchen with gas stove top and oven, mini fridge, toaster, french press, coffee grinder, pots & pans, dishes, cooking oil and basic spices etc. Coolers can also be provided for extra cold storage. - Great for remote working: fiber optic wireless internet and dedicated secretary desk with storage. - Get cozy next to the wood stove and relax in the sauna. Wood and bath robes are provided. - Outdoor charcoal grill and dining area. If you would like to cook lobster, please ask us to provide you with an outdoor propane burner and lobster pot. - Eclectic mix of vintage board games and Maine themed books and magazines for rainy days. Guest access Guests have access to the dock and beach in addition to the entirety of the cottage. Be aware that there are 2 families living on the property, and it is a working wharf with different workers coming and going, sometimes a little noisy. Other things to note Feel free to walk around the property. You might bump into Clarence, a 3rd generation lobsterman, who has an abundance of local knowledge. You might also meet the oystermen and women working for Bombazine Oysters on property and coming to and fro from their sea farm. Both work seasonally, usually from May to December. Both offer their harvest for sale, when available, on property. You might also hear and see our dog, Brea, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever - who simply loves the water. She is a bit suspicious of strangers and will bark but is obsessed with fetch and she may turn up begging for you to play with her. Price transparency; winter-spring(low season) rates range from $250 a night to summer-fall (high season) $450 a night. The cleaning fee is set at $150 per stay. Airbnb shows higher per night prices that include Airbnb fees, taxes and service charges (that are not paid out to hosts)
