Charming Log Cabin at Lake Cushman

Sword Fern Cabin is the quintessential log cabin nestled among tall pine and cedar trees in the Lake Cushman Community. Built in 1968, it's been lovingly remodeled and has three bedrooms, vaulted ceilings in the living/dining area, granite kitchen counter tops, custom spiral staircase, high speed fiber internet, A/C, BBQ and deck. We enjoyed the wood stove and its ambiance, as well." -- Feb '25 Guest Sword Fern Cabin is ~950 square feet featuring 3 bedrooms - 1 downstairs with a queen size bed, 2 bedrooms in the loft with full size beds (all have quality mattresses). The open spiral staircase leading to the second floor is custom and great for older kids and adults -- it isn't well suited for young children. The living area has a smart tv, comfy love seat and lounger. The kitchen is completely remodeled with higher end touches including stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and dishwasher. You'll enjoy the nice coffee pot, dishes, pans, silverware, utensils, glasses, dish soap, dishwasher soap, basic spices, etc. stocked in the kitchen. Coffee (including decaf) and tea are provided to help you start each day of your trip. The single bathroom is fully remodeled with a shower/full size bath tub. The tub is good for soaking as it's a non-standard depth. The bathroom is stocked with fresh fluffy towels, shampoo, hair dryer and hand soap. The covered front porch has two rocking chairs and perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails, includes a full size BBQ, propane and tools. The deck is off the living/dining area and has a patio table and chairs. There are throw blankets provided so the outside seating areas can be used all year. The nearby lakeside park is a 15 minute walk / 2 minute drive with a swim area, restrooms, basketball hoop, and volleyball net. Beach towels are available for your use. Dogs are welcome -- we have dog towels, a lint brush and doggie bags. While your furry friends are welcome at Sword Fern, they aren't allowed on any of the furniture, even with a blanket. If you leave, your dog needs to go with you or be crated (please bring your own, a crate isn't provided). Candles aren't allowed - this is a log cabin and located in the woods. Cellular service is not available at the cabin so many guests use wi-fi calling, there is a landline for local calls and most cellular services are available a few miles away at the Lake Cushman Grocery store. High speed fiber optic internet is available at the cabin. Linens: All the linens are high quality. In between each guest, all the bed linens are changed including the duvet covers, pillow covers, and mattress pads. This includes the throw blankets so you'll have a fresh blanket for sitting outside. Pet Policy: We only allow dogs. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin and property. Other things to note Sword Fern Cabin is our family cabin and only available about 1/3 of each month as we use it the rest of the time.
