Gladstone Guesthouse is located in a neighborhood called the Foster-Powell area of South East Portland and 1 block from Kern Park. Close to grocery stores, restaurants, I205 entrance mins away, downtown and airport are 15 mins in either direction. Please don’t hesitate to ask for deals and discounts on long term stays. The guesthouse is detached and is located behind the main house. It has its own spacious private patio with separate entrance and parking area. Kitchen has been recently remodeled with quartz countertops, new back splash and stainless farmhouse sink. The guesthouse has lots of natural lighting throughout the living, bedroom and kitchen. Comfy queen size memory foam mattress is in the bedroom and sofa pulls out into a sleeper located in the living room. There is also a rolling twin bed that can be brought over. 65” Samsung Smart TV has access to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Showtime and much more. Also has the capability to screen mirror from any Apple or Samsung device. The kitchen is equipped with electric stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and full sized refrigerator. Comes with everything you could need for whipping up a meal. There is also a Keurig machine with a variety of K-cups in stock and a French press. The unit comes with a brand new smart ductless heating and air conditioning system. You will have full acess to the whole unit and private gated patio. There is also plenty of street parking in front of the main house or by the back entrance if you have more than one car. Welcome to the FoPo neighborhood of Portland! With a walking score of 76 this area has 2 parks, grocery stores, diverse choice of restaurants and food carts. The Portland Mercando is within 10 minutes walking distance, offering Latin American food carts and a grocery store as well as a bar with indoor seating. Just a block from there is a another food cart pod. Kern park is just down the street and Essex park is a 9 minute walk away from the guesthouse. Should you need to pick up a few amenities, we are less than a 4 minute car ride from stores like Winco Foods, SF Asian Supermarket, Walgreens and Wal-Mart. Another 10 minute car ride away is Trader Joe’s, Fred Meyer’s and Whole Foods. The neighborhood is a great mix of family homes and conveniences. The Foster-Powell neighborhood is full of a mix of different restaurants such as Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Indian, Mexican, etc. One of our favorite spots is off the Griddle which is great for not just brunch but any meal of the day and is only a 9 minute walk from the bungalow. Getting an early start? Grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich from Higgins Boiled Bagels. There’s also the Pieper Cafe where you can pickup a great latte or a tasty treat. An Xuyen bakery hands down Portland’s best Vietnamese sandwich shop, where you can get the daily special for $6.50 (sandwich & Vietnamese iced coffee) and also a vast array of delicious pastries. NWIPA is a favorite go to for the best northwest beer and wine. Close to so many restaurants, shops, 11 block walk to Mt. Scott Park community center with pool, 5 minute drive to Mt Tabor Park and 30 minutes from Multnomah Falls. We hope you get to enjoy this area as it is still some what of a little bit of a secret Portland gem. The Tri bus line 9 (3 blocks away on Powell Blvd), the 14 (Foster Rd) and 72 (82nd Ave) runs about every 15 minutes. We highly recommend you download the PDX Bus, MAX & Streetcar application, as Portland has one of the best public transportation systems in the country. Also there is Reach Now, Cars ToGo, Uber, Lyft and Radio Cab. Bike routes are a couple blocks away to the north as well as the south and west. The airport and downtown Portland are about a 15 minute drive away. This place is perfect for business trips and long term stays. Please feel free to inquire about rates for these stays.
