The original architectural details, the lush garden, and the location make this an ideal home away from home. Our property contains our landmarked Victorian home and three stand-alone cottages. We rent several fully-furnished and suitcase-ready units: two beautiful historical 1920's stand-alone garden cottages and one inlaw studio in the historical 1885 Victorian home. This listing is for a stand-alone 1 bedroom COTTAGE. This cottage is the middle of three cottages on the property, set back from the street behind a garden gate. The cottage has a bedroom with a queen sized bed, a sweet living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen stocked with all kitchen basics (dishes, flatware, pots, etc). Keep in mind that this is a historic 1920s cottage. We have clean, comfortable, modern furnishings, but there is some rustic-ness to the place (like older cabinets and floors) that we think add to its charm! This cottages has its own outdoor patio area (with iron chairs and a table) in addition to the shared outdoor space on the property. The cottage is private and we are always very respectful of our guests, but there are other people (including children) that use the shared space on the property, including the garden near the cottage. The rate includes all utilities (gas, electric, water, garbage, wireless internet) and full furnishings (all furniture, sheets, towels, pots, pans, etc.) The units do not have TV. All units have access to (coin-operated) laundry and shared outdoor space on the property. A car is not necessary as we are in walking distance to (shopping, UC Berkeley, farmer's market, BART). Parking is street parking - folks who do want a car usually park ~3 blocks away, where there are no permits required. Parking immediately in front of the house requires a city permit - please let us know if you want more information about city parking permits.
