From October until May you need AWD, 4WD, or chains!! You need a car here. Conifer is the perfect place to get away from the stress of the city. Wildlife watching abounds and outdoor activities are just minutes away. Staunton State Park is only a few miles away. Enjoy gold medal trout fishing on the South Platte River. Play disc golf or go zip lining at Beaver Ranch. Rocky Mountain Park and Garden of the Gods are easy day trips. I'd love to welcome you to place I'm blessed to call home. Your space has a separate entrance. You have two bedrooms, a full bath, and a kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a coffee pot, microwave, toaster, and a toaster oven. There is a grill outside and a sitting area. You are welcome to enjoy the deck. The home is non-smoking, but you may smoke in the outside area. For clarification, the entryway is not outside and the flowerpot is not an ashtray! Always dispose of butts in the ashtrays provided for them. Fire is an ever present danger in the mountains. The number of guests is limited at 4! You are renting the ground level space. You are more than welcome to use the deck and grill. I live on the upper level. I have a full time job (10 hour shifts, Tuesday to Friday), so you will have private time during the day. I am happy to socialize and answer questions in the evening or on weekends. I've lived in Colorado for 25 years and Conifer for 20, so I'd be love to help you develop an itinerary. You drive past Flying J Ranch Open Space park getting to my home. It's a great place to picnic and take a quick hike. Alderfer/Three Sisters Park in Evergreen is another favorite. Evergreen Lake provides an easy, quick walk. You can fish year round. In the summer you can rent canoes or paddle boats. In the winter you can ice skate. It's a beautiful place to relax for a few hours. Generally you will need a car to get around in the Foothills. All wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is ideal in the winter. Remember that winter in the high country can extend into May. There are several Uber drivers in the area. In general, if it is snowing the roads become slick very quickly. They also improve just as quickly once the storm is over. If you are afraid to drive during a storm you can always just wait it out. It will pass quickly. During the summer, I have tall grass and wildflowers around my home. Once the wildflowers finish blooming, I will cut it down. Until then, hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees feed at the wildflowers. Nature is why I live here and you will have a natural experience. USE THE STAIRS FROM THE DECK TO ACCESS YOUR AREA, AS NOTED IN CHECK IN INSTRUCTIONS, NOT THE STEEP SLOPE!!!!
