Mere minutes away from Lake Junaluska Conference Center & Golf Course, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley makes Crabapple Cottage a great location for skiers, the mountain adventurer and peace seekers. Located within a 10-15 minute drive are the historic Downtown Waynesville, scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tony`s Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle museum, as featured on History Channels "American Pickers"), Ingles and Publix Grocery Stores, Walmart, and many great restaurants, local micro-breweries, craft shops, and boutiques. Within 30 minutes are Asheville and the Biltmore Estates & Winery, several micro-breweries, Cherokee, Harrah`s Casino, Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and "Polar Express" during the Christmas Holiday), Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and hundreds of antique shops. Within a 45 minute drive is Hendersonville where you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with an enormous dining Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip lining and much more. Just under 1 hour away are Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood). Located on Utah Mountain, the driveway is slightly steep with gravel. We do experience inclement weather in this region, seasonally, that may limit accessibility; all-wheel drive and/or 4-wheel drive is recommended in late fall or winter.
