The space Built in 1872, The Tannochbrae was the home and surgery of Dufftown doctors for more than a century and was also once the Provost’s residence. Today, it is a private heritage house where original character and generous proportions meet modern comfort. The drawing room provides comfortable seating, a log fire, TV and games—a welcoming place to gather after a day exploring Speyside. An initial supply of logs is provided. The separate dining room comfortably seats 10, with additional arrangements available for groups of more. This has a dry butlers bar with mini-fridge for ease of refreshments. The kitchen is equipped for group stays, with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge, boiling-water tap and wine and refreshment chiller. A separate pantry provides a large freezer, bean-to-cup coffee machine, preparation space, crockery and additional storage. The utility room contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink. The ground floor also has a WC, boot room and cloakroom. The rear stone courtyard has outdoor furniture and a BBQ. It can also provide secure, convenient space for guests travelling with bicycles. BEDROOMS All five bedrooms are situated on the first floor and have their own private en-suite bathroom: * Two super king bedrooms, each configurable as twin beds * One king bedroom * One bedroom with a double and single bed * One bedroom with a king and single bed The final two rooms can each accommodate up to three guests, making them particularly useful for families or groups requiring flexible sleeping arrangements. The en-suites offer a mixture of walk-in showers, bath and showers over baths. Every bedroom also has a TV and dressing table or desk. Crisp white bed linen and fluffy white towels are provided. Travel cots, baby-bath and a highchair are available on request. Guest access Your group will have exclusive use of the main five-bedroom house and rear courtyard throughout your stay. No other guests will share these spaces with you. Your standard Airbnb booking includes the drawing room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, utility room, five en-suite bedrooms and ground-floor WC. The adjoining private whisky snug and bar is a separate hosted area and is not included within standard self-catering access. A private hosted whisky experience can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and an additional charge. The snug is home to a collection of more than 400 single malts. Breakfast and private dining options are also be available by advance arrangement. Please enquire before booking if one of these experiences is important to your stay. Housekeeping if required is available during your stay by advance arrangement. Other things to note The Tannochbrae is centrally located in Dufftown rather than in a secluded rural setting. Shops, cafés, pubs and local amenities are within easy walking distance. Free parking is normally available on Fife Street and surrounding streets, but spaces are public rather than private or reserved. There is one step at the main entrance. All five bedrooms are on the first floor and are reached by the main staircase; there is no ground-floor bedroom or lift. The rear courtyard is a compact, stone-surfaced outdoor area rather than a lawned garden. The whisky snug, breakfast and private dining and housekeeping are optional additions and are not included in the standard accommodation price. These must be discussed and arranged in advance.
