If you continue east and then south, you will come across the Beach Institute African-American Cultural Center, which is a great place to explore African-American history in Savannah. If you head west, you can find a few more squares like Lafayette and Madison, as well as the Andrew Low House. Another option when you stay in Savannah vacation homes is to take a short drive east to visit Tybee Island. Everything slows down to island time when you're on this charming and picturesque island. You'll have the opportunity to lounge on Atlantic beaches, try some local seafood, or get active by biking around the island or renting watercraft equipment. The must-visit spot on Tybee Island, aside from the beautiful beaches, is the Tybee Lighthouse on the very north end. The lighthouse overlooks the port from the ocean to the Savannah River.
