Welcome to Deer Hideout Retreat! We are located in Palmyra, Virginia, on two acres of land. There's an abundance to see and to do around here, and we hope you choose our home for your stay. We are far enough outside of the city to enjoy the peace and quiet, but just a short drive to all the action. We are close to Monticello, James Monroe's Highland and 28 minutes away from the city center of historic Charlottesville. There are plenty of vineyards all around us and a couple of orchards, too. Our guests will be staying on the lower ground level of our home. This has its own private entrance leading to a walk-out patio area with a coffee table, love seat and two chairs. The private guest suite also includes your own bathroom with shower, a mini refrigerator, and a bar area complete with a small sink. There is a California King Dreamcloud bed. If there are more than two guests, we will put out an additional queen size bed. (When booking, please select the number of guests so we can have the bed ready). We have provided a coffee machine (with coffee), tea, utensils, cutting board, plates, bowls, mugs, and glasses. Guests will have absolute privacy during their stay. We do not enter the guest suite at anytime, unless there is an emergency, and guests will be notified. If there is anything you might need, please let us know and we will do our best to make your stay more enjoyable. We live on the top two floors of our home with our child, dog, and cat, so you may hear some noise and a few foot steps from time to time, but we always try to keep things quiet. You may also hear an occasional bark or meow. Guests will have the entire lower ground level of our home with its own private entrance. Guests will also be free to roam the property (2 acres). Our property is family-friendly, and there is a large grass area to let your children run and play. We have provided a parking space just for our guests . We do live on the property, however we give our guests their complete privacy. If you would like for us to come say hi at anytime, please let us know and we will be happy to do so! We are both more than happy to help out in any way and answer any questions you might have. Our place is located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees and deer. It is a wonderful place to take a nice evening walk while spotting some deer. We are located close to Monticello, James's Monroe's Highland, plenty of vineyards, a couple of orchards, Pleasant Grove Park, Rivanna River, and of course historic Charlottesville! We are far enough outside of the city for peace and quiet, but just a short distance to all the action. We also have a grocery store, gas station, and a few restaurants a couple minutes away. And make sure to try Wahoo BBQ during your stay! We are located just a few minutes from Layz S Ranch which is a wonderful place to get married! If you enjoy adventures, there are plenty of places to visit within an hour drive from us, such as James Madison's Montpelier, Richmond, Yoder's Country Market, Shanandoah National Park, Wintergreen Resort, and so many more places! We do live in a rural area, so having a car is a must. Make sure to always watch for deer while driving! Our property is located 26 miles from Charlottesville Airport. We are located far enough outside of the city for your peace and quiet, but still close enough to the city to enjoy a night out. We are also close to plenty of vineyards, and of course Monticello! We do welcome pets. There is a $35 pet fee. Please mark down that you will be bringing a pet. You can pay the pet fee through the website or leave cash on the bar counter. Please keep pet off furniture and pick up after your pet goes potty. Thank you so much. We have an automatic lock on the guest suite door, and the code will be given to you before check-in. Please use this code when you are entering the door (there is no key). You will input the four-digit code, and the door will unlock. Upon checkout, please follow the provided instructions found on the counter and make sure the door is locked.
