It´s only five kilometres from Mayrhofen, but still in a completely different world. Although there is a bus to Mayrhofen, it´s more convenient to come here by car. Although there is a bus connection to Mayrhofen and the ski bus also runs to Brandberg in winter, it´s more convenient to come here by car or hire a car for independent mobility. The nearest bakery and supermarket are located in Mayrhofen, better stock up on groceries before you check in. And then get ready for your next unforgettable holiday with a breathtaking panoramic views, alpine flair and plenty of Tyrolean cosiness. Summer The Zillergrund is a fascinating side valley of the Zillertal and a very good starting point for all kind of summer adventures. Easy hikes and simple climbing and bouldering routes start in the Sundergrund, almost right on your doorstep. The turquoise-blue Zillergruendl alpine lake is always worth a visit. Take the local bus, e-bike or car along the road to the to the Baerenbadalm in the back of the valley. With an e-bike, you can even cycle further up to the lake. Choose between easy hikes to the picturesque Hohenaualm, also known as ‘Little Tibet’ or go further to Plauener Huette. The ascent is rewarded with marvellous panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The Steiner Kogel, the Kolmhaus or the Alpenrosenhuette are also great places to go, whether on foot or by bike. And then, of course, there are a thousands other cool things to do and to see around Mayrhofen and the entire Zillertal in summer! Winter Our apartment house is located in the heart of a Tyrolean winter wonderland. Enjoy your holiday exactly as you would imagine a winter vacation in the mountains. The free ski bus takes you to the valley station of the Penken or Ahorn cable car in Mayrhofen in 15 minutes. On the ‘Ahorn’, a small but beautiful ski area awaits you with easy beginners' slopes and the Whitelounge Igloo Bar. Experienced winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to the 6 kilometre long ‘black’ valley run. Explore the large ski area on mount ‘Penken’ reaching all the way from Mayrhofen via Finkenberg to the Eggalm in Tuxertal. There are numerous ski schools and plenty of après-ski huts at Penken. Even as a Non-Skier, it's worth taking the Ahorn or Penken cable car up and down to explore the winter wonderland on fabulous winter hiking tracks. And when you've had enough of all the action, return to guesthouse Waldruh and enjoy the calm and quiet in the small village of Brandberg.
