Description

Swallow’s Rest has everything you need for a fabulous city break. The windows open onto a courtyard, letting in light and shielding you from city noise. Step outside, and it’s a quick walk to Seattle’s iconic sites, the Convention Center, Amazon HQ, and the Cruise Terminal. You’ll also be steps away from great restaurants, cocktails, fabulous jazz, shopping, and more! If Swallow’s Rest is unavailable, click on our host profile and discover Piet's Perch (upstairs) or Jewel Box (below). The space We think of this 400-foot, second-floor studio as “Swallow’s Rest". It’s the perfect place to catch your breath after a day soaring about the city – whether you’ve been sightseeing or flying between back-to-back meetings. Weather in Seattle is generally mild – it’s rare for summer temperatures to climb above the low 80s and the humidity is low. For your comfort, AC is available between May and October. Designed like a hotel suite, Swallow’s Rest has a comfortable, pillow-top queen bed, good lighting, and an ample closet for unpacking and stowing your luggage. There’s a comfortable seating area and an HD TV loaded with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and more. The coffee table raises to seating height, creating an excellent place for working (there’s high-speed wi-fi) or dining. The kitchen is fully equipped to whip up simple meals with ingredients from the nearby Whole Foods or the Pike Place Market. There’s also a European combined washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, full-sized fridge, toaster, French press, and more. The bath is stocked with the essentials – towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer. And there’s an iron, ironing board, and a full-sized mirror to ensure you look your best. Guest access Swallow’s Rest is in a charming building built in 1922. From the sidewalk, there are eight marble stairs to reach the lobby, then a flight of stairs to the second floor, where Swallow’s Rest is located. The building is secure, requiring a code to enter, and the condo is equipped with a smart lock. Guests will receive the front door code and a unique smart lock code 3-days before arrival. The on-site guest book is filled with our favorite restaurant recommendations, local insights on things to do, where to find services, and the closest gym, hair salon, and grocery store. Other things to note With a Walk Score of 99, you don’t need a car to explore Seattle when you stay at Swallow’s Rest. Although there’s a parking garage half a block away, we recommend taking the Link light rail to the Westlake station (35 minutes/$3) and walking the 4 blocks to the condo. You can also grab a taxi or a ride-share service. If your holiday plans include exploring Washington State, there are several rental car agencies within walking distance, making it easy to pick up a car when you need it.
