Tony built this property by hand over the years and Tessie ran the place like a drill Sargent. Later, David and Joyce Anteau, and David Anteau Jr took over and continued their family legacy. As new owners since 2021, The Drake family is constantly updating and remodeling to make our guests' stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. HERE IS A SAMPLE PRE CHECK IN LETTER WE SEND TO YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, IF YOU PROVIDE IT, WITH ANY UPDATES AT THAT TIME: Moreno's Cottages welcomes you for your upcoming visit, continuing a tradition of Adirondack cabin getaways since 1923- this year celebrating our 100th Anniversary! We are looking forward to hosting you and would like to make sure that you have all the information you need to make the most of your stay. How to find us: You can either map Moreno’s Cottages, Ray Brook NY or our address, 322 Ray Brook Rd, at the intersection of Route 86 and Old Ray Brook Rd, behind the Maple Fields Convenience Store. Maple Fields is in walking -distance and is an excellent resource for groceries, coffee, deli, beverages and supplies during your stay! Your accommodation is: Cabin 6. Our cabins are laid out in numerical order from the entrance to the rear of the property, and they are all numbered on the front corner. Cabin #2 is the first accommodation on the right side, and Cabins 3-10 are on the left hand side of the driveway through the property, in numerical order starting from front to back into the property. Numbers are on the driveway side front corner of each. Please note that our two bedroom cabins have multiple entrances that include small porches as well as the "front door", which is to the left side / behind the cabin. The parking spot for each cabin is alongside the building, closest to the main entrance to the property and closest to the entry door(s). Please do not park in the main driveway as it may block access to the remainder of the property for other guests. If you have multiple vehicles in your party, or have trailer in tow, please ask us about additional parking. We provide a contact-free check in with our Remote Lock secure entry doors. Your personal and private lock PIN code will be valid between the check in and check out times of your stay, and you will receive the code via text message and/or email on the morning of your arrival. Please plan to proceed directly to your accommodation in order to park and access your lodging. We will be sure to catch up with you soon, and are availalble to help when you need us! We are often on site both to meet our guests and assist them with their needs. Please note: For direct reservations with us, on or after the day before check in we will charge your credit or debit card on file for the remaining balance. If you wish to use a different form of payment, please do let us know. Please do not arrive early to check in unless prior have been made with our staff, as your access code will not be valid until standard check-in time. If you will be arriving later than standard check in times, please be sure to let us know, so that we can ensure that someone is waiting to meet you. Check-out is no later than 11am on the day of departure. If you feel that you will need any additional time, please let us know in advance so that we can make arrangements to accommodate you. We are an environmentally friendly cabin property. We do not provide beach and bath towels, however, they are available upon request for those whose travel arrangements preclude bringing their own, or for those who may forget them. Please let us know in advance so we are prepared to serve you. To save waste, and keep plastics out of our woods and lakes, we also provide soap, shampoo and conditioner in dispenser form, rather than individual bottles. One thing that you are sure to love: our luxurious 100% 300 count long staple cotton sheets for your comfort. We do not provide housekeeping during your stay, however, if you have special requests please do let our staff know. If you are staying in a cabin or an accommodation that include a full kitchen, please do clean up your dishes and food waste. Trash can be removed to outside cans at any time. As a reminder, we do not allow pets on-site without express permission. Wi-Fi system & password: System is "Moreno's Guest", password: Morenos1 - we have 400MB service that is boosted around the property. We have 6 different routers for your convenience- they are all the same password, and you can feel free to use whichever provides the best experience, depending upon where you are located on the proeprty. The local Internet service is generally pretty good! That said, the utility company (Spectrum) infrastructure here is not in the best of condition, and there are often "mini" outages during the peak summer months. Please do be patient if you notice a lost signal on wifi - our experience is that it comes back shortly. Kindly report any sustained outages, and we will contact the provider for assistance. Please note: On the day of check-in we will charge your card on file for the remaining balance. If you wish to use a different form of payment, please do let us know. Our fire pits are for use by guests staying on our property. If you would like to make a fire, you may purchase bundles from our self-serve station, the vendor on the intersection of Old Ray Brook and Route 86, or bring your own. Any dead fall may be used as kindling, but please do not cut living or standing trees under any circumstances. We do have some fire starter sticks and grill style lighters available for your use, you will find them either in your cabin or out at the fire wood box. Each cabin has a grill and a picnic table was well. For the cooler nights, each cabin has a gas fired vent-less heater. Starting procedure is as-follows: Turn black knob to "PILOT", push down and HOLD, push red ignitor button until small flame is visible behind the glass, continue to HOLD black button for 10 seconds, release black button. If flame remains lit, turn knob to desired flame height. You may leave pilot on if you plan to use the heater throughout your stay. One last suggestion, it is helpful to bring a pair of sandals or slippers to wear inside your accommodation, in order to leave shoes on the porch if possible. This helps keep our "Adirondack" nature (pine needles, leaves & that tough mountain mud) out of your cabin or suite! We endeavor to provide all of our guests with a "5- star" rustic woods cabin experience. Please, if you need anything at all, or, if you have any cocnerns about your cabin or the property - please bring them to our attention right away! We want to make any corrections necessary during your stay, so that you fully enjoy your trip. Our goal is to satisfy 100% of our customers. Again, thank you for choosing to stay with us, and please feel free contact us if you have any questions. Here is our contact information: Email: blocked Phone: blocked (fastest response time, especially for an urgent need!) Thank you! Todd & Leigh Drake Moreno's Cottages
