Private back deck that backs to woods - quite and serene. Can be rented for more than 1 week on request. Why this house? Peace and QUIET! You are nestled into the east side of a dune - nicely protected from wind, etc. Quick 2 block walk to the water to a several MILE public beach! As you walk to the water, you'll see you have WAY more privacy on your back deck than most anyone in the area. Also the place was recently remodeled down to the studs so you get the vintage feel with all the modern conveniences - even an outdoor shower station to rinse off at when you come back from the water. Lots of beds and a nice big dining table - perfect for an active family get together. You have the entire house. There is one locked storage closet in the basement, otherwise it's all yours. You'll have email and cell of the owner - just call/text/email with any questions or problems. We spend most of the summer right next door so we're not hard to find. Sheridan Beach is the 'Beach' part of Michigan City. A lot of it was built in the 1920's and 30's and many homes are owned for generations. We love the beach - it's huge, clean, and the sand is perfect (not white, but otherwise perfect - it even 'sings' when you walk on it). Your cottage has a very private back deck and backs to a couple empty lots so it's really private and the kids can go and check out the 'woods'. You'll need a car. The park and beach are walk able. Lot of stuff close enough for a bike ride. Plenty of street parking right in front. Can get crowded during weekend/holiday days, but always clears out by evening. There are Thursday night concerts in the park all summer by the Michigan City Band - don't miss those. They have some movie nights in the park as well - check the book when you arrive.
