This romantic, two story suite has a main level living room and well-equipped full-size kitchen plus an upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The living room features a private entry, wood fireplace, plush futon, dinette, and window seat. The bedroom has a cozy gas stove, queen bed, clawfoot soaking tub, and private deck. There are 3 cottages plus the inn with 5 vacation suites, an office, and owners quarters. Croftville Road Cottages is owned and operated by Teresa and Mike Chmelik who live on-site. The inviting and romantic cottages and suites are impeccably clean and meticulously maintained. Croftville Road Cottages offers an experience reminiscent of days past when small mom and pop resorts were found all along the North Shore. However, the cozy cottages and luxurious inn suites are among the finest vacation rentals along Lake Superior. Croftville Road Cottages is conveniently located just 3 miles from downtown Grand Marais on the lakeside of scenic Croftville Road known by locals as the "walking road". Come relax by a fire. There are walking paths through the natural vegetation leading from the cottages and inn suites to a path along the lake and a stairway that provides easy access to the beach. There are 2 fire circles with outdoor furniture and 3 swings along this path that are available for guest use on a first-come, first-serve basis and look out over Lake Superior. Firewood is provided in the 4 firewood shelters that are located about the grounds. Guests who are adventurous are always welcome to carry wood down to the beach to have a small fire on the rocks. Note: Inn Suite #4 has a charcoal grill next to the entry porch. It also has marshmallow skewers and grill utensils hanging on the entry steps. We do not provide charcoal and starting fluid. Other things to note 1. Croftville Road Cottages is required to collect 12.375% in state and local sales taxes. Airbnb collects this for us and this shows up as taxes on your quote/bill. 2. There is a 2 night minimum on weekends and a 3 night minimum on holidays and special events. 3. There is a 10% discount for 3-6 night stays and a 20% discount for 7 or more night stays. 4. Accessibility: This inn suite is a 2-story suite. There is a winding interior stairway leading to the bedroom and bathroom on the upper level. There is an exterior stairway of 6 steps leading from the sidewalk to the entry porch on the main level. The entry doors are standard 32". The bathroom and bedroom doors are 30" and the archway leading into the interior stairway is 24". Amenity notes: 1. Kitchen: The inn suite has a full kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, small appliances, and linens. It also has full size kitchen appliances. 2. Linens: The inn suite is supplied with all the bedding needed including ample pillows, and extra blankets. It also has all the plush towels and washcloths needed for the bathroom and kitchen. 3. Heating: This inn suite has in-floor heating plus a wood fireplace in the living room and a thermostat controlled decorative gas stove in the bedroom. 4. Hangers: There are hangers in the bedroom closet. In addition, there are many hooks in the inn suite and 2 luggage racks in the bedroom. 5. TV: There is no TV reception but the smart TV has internet access and is connected to a DVD player. There is a collection of DVDs in the office. 6. Fireplace: The living room has a wood fireplace with firewood. The bedroom has a thermostat controlled decorative gas stove where one can enjoy a fire. 7. WIFI: Our wifi network name is "Croftville Road Cottages Public" and is not password protected. 8. Laptop friendly workspace. There is a table and chairs in the dining area. 9. Cooking basics: We have salt, pepper, and coffee filters in the kitchen. Although the full kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, small appliances, and linens, you need to bring all food you require.
