Kingston House is an Anker I. Molver-designed, mid-century “masterpiece” on 27 private acres of rolling hills, towering cedars and a working lavender farm. Located on the Kitsap Peninsula between Bainbridge Island and Olympic National Park, we are a quintessentially Pacific Northwest setting for your getaway or celebration. Kingston House feels remote, but is just 2 miles from the Kingston ferry (to Seattle & Edmonds) and 11 miles from the Bainbridge ferry (to Seattle). A beautiful natural setting for a self-care retreat or private getaway. Fans of Pacific Northwest mid-century design love the residence, which was designed by an architect with roots in Norway and Japan from Douglas-fir timbers milled on-site. Guests describe the house as an “architectural delight” with “beautiful touches throughout,” and the grounds as “gorgeous and spacious” (the word “magical” has been used more than once). Kingston House has been updated with modern comforts while respecting its architectural integrity. RESIDENCE HIGHLIGHTS + ~4,000 sf to spread out + Sleeps 12 + 4 bedrooms + loft (6 beds total) + 4 bathrooms + Vaulted ceilings & sunken conversational space with wrap-around rock fireplace + Soaking tub + rain shower in the Main Suite + Chef's kitchen w/ Viking 6-burner stove + Steinway grand piano + Sling Cable, HBOMax, Netflix and Amazon Video + Powered by renewable solar energy GROUNDS HIGHLIGHTS + 27-acres w/ walking trails + Outdoor jetted cedar hot tub + Lavender Farm & Orchard + 2 fire pits with firewood + Pond with canoe + Waterfall patio w/ outdoor table + Hilltop and Garden gazebos + Wildlife. The property connects to 2,000+ acres of nature preserve. Deer, coyote, fisher, great horned owls and the occasional black bear are our neighbors. Kingston House is family-owned and operated. We value hospitality, mutual respect, and creating wonderful experiences for our guests. We partner with local social service and environmental organizations to support our community and reduce our carbon footprint. Guests will enjoy private use of the entire house and access to the 27-acre grounds, except for the owner’s apartment garden and nursery. Upon request. Kingston House is 5 minutes from Kingston, a cute town on the Kitsap Peninsula. Ferries cross Puget Sound to downtown Seattle and Edmonds. (Groceries, pharmacy and coffee are 1 mile away). Nearby communities of Bainbridge Island (ferry to Seattle), Norwegian-themed Poulsbo and historic Port Gamble are great day or half-day trips. Farther afield are Victorian Port Townsend and the rainforests of Olympic National Park. Our "backyard" includes thousands of acres of protected parks with hiking and biking trails. Kitsap Transit provides limited bus service from the Kingston and Bainbridge Island ferry terminals. - The owners live on-site in a separate apartment, but you probably won't encounter us during your stay. - NOTE: June-September weekends are generally reserved for weddings or other events, which typically require an additional fee (approx. $6-10k). Please inquire for details.
