The Treehouse

Welcome to the Treehouse. This is our home away from home—and hopefully yours too. We love coming to the treehouse just off clear Rock Lake. The Treehouse is a getaway, although there are neighbors, you feel as if you are nestled in a grove of trees. The house itself provides places where guests can linger, relax, sip a glass of wine or a cup of java or simply just be. One of my favorite features is the glass windows that wrap up around the ceiling so that it feels like the outside is coming in. The space There are many gathering spaces at the Treehouse-the paver patio in front has comfortable seating around a fire pit grill. The wraparound deck has places to sit, lounge and dine. In spring summer and fall, the trees are glorious and the sun finds its way through the leaves. In winter, you can see the lake as well as the snowfall thru walls of windows. There is a loft retreat as well as a walkout basement with a game room and a place to watch movies. The open concept kitchen has a gas fireplace and places to sit under a ceiling of windows that brings the outside in. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms- two queen beds and a set of bunkbeds, a futon, 3 couches and lots of floor space 😊Kayaks (2 singles and 1 tandem) and various floats as well as lifejackets and water shoes are provided in one of 2 garages available to our guests. A public launch and swimming area are just a hop skip and a jump from the Treehouse. You can also store your boat at the treehouse and drop it in just down the road at the launch. Once you get to the Treehouse, you may not want to leave-but just in case you want to explore...there are bike, snowmobile and atv trails. Rock Lake is a 1360- acre clear spring fed lake with a sandy bottom. All water sports are welcome. The town of Lake Mills is very charming. The shops and restaurants surround a beautiful tree-lined walking park square. Often there are festivals, exhibits and markets. One of my favorite restaurants is the Lewis Station Winery at which you can taste some of most succulent locally made wines and the cuisine is delectable and satiating. The Hub brews a rich latte. And any ingredients you need to cook at home can be found at either of the local markets. Lake Mills is about 30 minutes from Madison and 50 minutes from Milwaukee. For some enchanting professional theatre, visit the Fireside Dinner Theatre for a delicious meal and theatre, in the round, any time of year. So much to do...or so content to just be...at the Treehouse. Guest access Guests will be able to access most all of the house. The mechanical room off the game room is where we store our things. There is a utility cleaning closet on the landing to the loft and a crawl space behind the couch that are just for us. The garage that stands alone is available to you to park your car or boat in and the first garage as you enter the other driveway has all the lake equipment. The other garage closest to the house is our storage. Otherwise feel free to use all the other spaces. Other things to note In addition, I would like to emphasize that the treehouse is in a residential neighborhood. We kindly ask that you respect the fact that houses are somewhat close together and activities can be seen and heard. We would like to maintain our fresh reputation in this community and also maintain the privilege of sharing our unique and enchanting home with all of you. So please, conduct yourselves in a way that would allow you, others and ourselves to return for years to come. For our guests who are 21 years and older, we have a wine rack in the kitchen. You are welcome to select one bottle of wine during your stay with us. We have also left the "makings" for s'mores on our outdoor fire pit . Charcoal and lighter fluid are in the garage. We ask that when you leave, you collect all laundry and leave it in the laundry room and load the dishes in the dishwasher and run it. And of course, leave the keys in the acorn jar on the tree table in the entry way. You don't have to clean out the refrigerator.
