Red Mountain Villa

Location, Location, Location.... Red Mountain Villa recently voted "Top Ten Vacation Rental" in the Washington by Tasting Room Magazine. The Villa is located on the Yakima River in the heart of the State's Wine Country within minutes of many of the top wineries in the Northwest. The home is a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom one hundred year old cozy home that was remodeled in 2016. Step back in time and take in the charm of this rustic "Old World" Italian themed design and lifestyle. The space Red Mountain Villa was formerly the original Train Station located near the bridge by the river and later moved to it's current location. The structure has been renovated several times over the past 110 years and is also the former home of Boo Walker, the well-known author of the "Red Mountain Chronicles" who wrote the novels from this house. Boo has since written many other novels while living abroad internationally. In 2016 the house was completely remodeled into a luxurious "Old World" Italian themed farmhouse design with exposed structural beams, imported antique tiles and distressed wood flooring. Here you can step back in time and feel you are in the 18th Century rustic farmhouse, but still with the convenience of Internet, WIFI, Air Conditioning and large widescreen HD TV's. The 3500 square foot house has an upstairs fully appointed kitchen and downstairs is a 2nd kitchen which is next to the large TV family room. There is also a gas BBQ just outside the downstairs French doors. Everything you need to prepare and cook meals are on site. For Bedrooms there is: Upstairs Master Bedroom with a King Size Bed Upstairs Bedroom with a Queen Size Bed Downstairs Bedroom with a King Size Bed If you like wild life and bird watching, just sit by the river in our six Adirondack chairs and take it all in. For birds, we regularly see Bald Eagles, King Fishers, Cranes, Pelicans, Swans, Ducks, Geese, Owls, Hawks and hundreds of song birds. Here on the river you can also watch otters, beaver and salmon jumping with kayaks paddling by while drinking morning coffee or afternoon Chardonnay. Or, stroll among the walnut tree grove and fruit trees; and/or pick berries and walk the vineyards without leaving the property. It is all there on site should you decide to stay put and chill out! Guests can also walk to fine dining just across the street and up the hill at Terra Blanca Winery which serves lunch daily from noon to 5pm. Terra Blanca is considered one of the nicest winery locations in the Northwest and hosts many weddings and corporate events annually. There is also within walking distance Elk Haven Winery to the south and Tucannon Cellars just a 1/4 mile to the north who also host weddings frequently in their new Sugar Pine Barn. There are a dozen additional Wineries within a short 5 minute drive including Hedges, Col Solare, High Tower, Tapteil, Kiona, Fidelitas, Frichette, Cooper and many others. Red Mountain Villa is a newly remodeled rustic hundred year old heritage house in the wine country. However, given that it is an older house, there is always be the odd cobweb and things to be worked on or be cleaned; it will never be in perfect condition. Due to constant winds and desert surroundings, the house will always be a bit dusty. It is a ton of work to maintain and we do our best to keep it clean, presentable and functioning. But we also love the house and property just as it is and many of our guests also love the character and old world charm of it knowing it is not a 5 star hotel.... In summary, it's a fun vacation rental to kick back at and enjoy, but please note; it's not in perfect condition and never will be.... Please also note, we are not ADA compliant nor are we Child Proof in anyway. We also have 2 antique claw-foot bath tubs "without hand rails" that some older guest have commented on being hard to get in and out of. If this is an issue, then you will need to find another suitable rental. We also get lots of requests for weddings and various large group gatherings; however we are not set up for large parties or events of more than eight people. We are simply not designed for this type of use for many reasons including; the house is not large enough, we have limited parking, a septic system and the insurance policy is not set up for Events. This little Wine Villa is a wonderful place for small gatherings for friends and families of 8 or under. Please enjoy and respect it like it was yours and have a wonderful stay. Guests love the views, old world rustic feel and character of the house within the natural setting of the vineyards and river. Please: No fires or fireworks are permitted on the property at anytime due to ongoing burn bans. All exterior music must be turned off by 10pm. No loud exterior music, please respect all neighbor's privacy. Do not enter in closed off areas. Use river at your own risks. Guest may also pick berries, nuts and fruit from the orchards to consume during their stay. However, be considerate to following guests and owners. Other things to note Red Mountain Villa is a short term vacation rental property. No rentals will be permitted past 10 days unless approved in writing by the owner. The irrigation system will run from 1am to 7am every night during the summer months. No pets and no smoking in the house is permitted. Stay out of all locked off/keep out areas. No fires are permitted on the property due to burn bans and for safety reasons. Please wash all pots, pans and dishes used. And no groups larger than 8. Please use extreme caution around the River and use at your own risk. Although we are family friendly, the house is not child proof. Given this, we prefer not to have any children stay at Red Mountain Villa under the age of 12. The house is not ADA compliant and there are no handrails in the bathrooms.
