Dream cottage getaway just over an hour from downtown Chicago. Walking distance from the beach, restaurants and all of downtown New Buffalo. Close to the casino, wineries and breweries. Whether driving in or taking the train, The Bradford is a relaxing yet sophisticated getaway. Eat, drink, and enjoy the beach, the pool, the shops and incredible summer sunsets, all within walking distance! Please note pool/bathhouse open late May - September and is shared with our association.Permit C22-0051 First of all, this is a new construction home, finished at the beginning of 2018. You will find many modern amenities and upgrades in kitchen, Nest thermostats that control each floor, smart TV's in the living room and family room, and of course, wifi. For the summer, weekly rentals are only available with check in and check out on Fridays in the summer months. Some guidelines to make sure we are a good fit for your get away: -The house is meant to create memorable and enjoyable experiences for family and friends. This includes a space to congregate, laugh, cook, and relax! -This property is non-smoking indoors and outdoors. Please no smoking on any of the premises. -No parties, loud music, or loud noise. After 11pm please do not hang out on the porch/deck. We love our community and are happy to share it with others who can be respectful of our neighbors. -Per our association: rentals must be by adults 30 or older. We gladly welcome your younger family members with you. Proof of ID with a credit card may be required. -Please no bachelor, bachelorette, birthday parties, wedding parties, or post prom rentals. *The house is equipped with outdoor cameras anyone one found breaking the rules mentioned will be asked to leave for breaking the terms of the rental agreement. Here's the breakdown of how the house is laid out. The first thing to know is the front of the house is not on a street. It looks out to the neighborhood. So when you arrive, you will be arriving on Whidbey Lane, which is the back of the house. There is a stoned parking pad and a small cement pad in front of the garage on the back of the house where two cars can fit in tandem. Plenty of additional parking is available in our neighborhood. Our garage is small and for storage only. When you enter the back door, you will walk in a small hallway and then the first set of rooms you will meet are the master bedroom with a king size bed and TV and then the first floor bath which has a bathtub with shower head. You then walk into the living room, kitchen, and dining combination. This is the heart of the first floor. The living room is set up to circulate conversation and lounging. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and a coffee station! The kitchen island seats 3 and underneath the island by the bar stools is a power strip, perfect for charging a phone or laptop. The dining nook is in the kitchen. The hand made dining table has built in seating for 6 people (8 if you squeeze!). On the first floor as well, you have a back deck that is set up for dining and the front porch that is set up for lounging. From the front porch you can see the community pool and you look out at the neighborhood. On the second floor, when you arrive at the top of the stairs, you will find two bedrooms and one full bathroom. One bedroom has a queen size bed with a mounted TV and the other bedroom has a queen size bed with a twin size day bed with mounted TV. Both of these bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower (no tub here). When you go to the lower level, this is one of our favorite spaces in the entire house. Here, you will find the family room. This is set up with a sectional sofa (that also has a queen, Tempurpedic pull out bed) that is set in front of our custom built wood wall (we did it ourselves with Jeff's dad leading the project!) with a mounted 65" smart TV. This is perfect for movies, naps, and watching HGTV! You will also find a pub heigh table that is perfect for eating or gaming (board games stored in the lower level bedroom closet) and a foosball table. You will also find the laundry room on the lower level behind the custom built sliding barn door. On the lower level, you will also find the bunk room. This room is perfect for kids (or adults who still think they are kids). With the playful nautical design, this room has a bunk bed that has 2 twin beds and then a twin size day bed with a pull out trundle bed underneath it. This room does not have a TV, but does have it's own bath with a tub that has a shower head. It's the largest bathroom in the house! And there you have it! That is the layout of the house! The entire house is yours! We are available to answer any questions you may have by call or text. The neighborhood is one of the main reasons we bought our home here. New Buffalo is such a fun beach town. We are tucked away, off of Whittaker Street, but within walking distance. Whittaker is the heart of the community. Here you will find some of the favorite restaurants, grocery store, shops, and most important for the summer, ice cream parlors! This is also the main entrance to the beach. You can walk from the house to the beach - it's that close - and we recommend that because the parking lot at the beach fills up every day in the summer. There are also restaurants and more shops off of Red Arrow Highway for you to explore as well as the Four Winds Casino and Golf Courses in the area! Couple notes on transportation. The Amtrak train runs from Chicago to New Buffalo a few times a day. The train station is walking distance from the house. And if you decide to drive, there are two parking spaces for our house, one right out back on a stone pad and then a small car can fit in the garage. There is street parking throughout the area for more cars. If you decide to stay in the area, there is plenty to do throughout the week. You can also go south to Michigan City, IN to the Outlet Mall for some shopping fun, or you can go north and visit some of our favorite towns for more shopping, restaurants, wineries and breweries. Some of these towns include Union Pier, Sawyer, Stevensville, St. Joe, and Baroda. No longer than a 30 minute ride to St. Joe for more beach, restaurants and shops. Just as a heads up, there are a couple of things to know about our neighborhood. This is a new development and those of us who live here, really love the neighborhood. It is tucked away from the main street of New Buffalo, Whittaker, but so close, you can walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach!
